I had this dream last night where in I found myself at a mall surrounded by Disney characters, amongst them was a cheerful-to-see Robin Hood. We aprouched with wide arms in embrace as if it were years since we last saw each other. I remember saying to him "Ol' Rob! Good to see you ol' boy, how long has it been?". He replied "Indeed, ol' champ, indeed" with a smile on his face. We then went our merry way. It was for a moment, but It reminded me of the very Disney character, the very first furry that made me who I am today.
The first before all the ponies, all the WW2 and military theme works, before all the Breast expansions and right down none sense, even before Balto...
It felt so good to hug him (in a platonic way) It made me miss the days of my earlier youth, before everything that is now the present...
To Brian Bedford,
Thanks for providing a voice to a role model. Rest in Peace (1935 - Jan 13, 2016)

Dumbo, makes me cry to this day. Makes me think of the innocence of all our youths which is now crushed by, taking from what you said some from what you said, ponies, WWII, war themes in general, racism, pr0nz, breasts, and others things of the sort. Babe is also a fantastic movie that will leave you reminiscing about the days of old, and my second favorite after Babe, The Iron Giant.
grrfff... Seeing this and reading your story made me a little teary mate.
My grandmother taped Robin Hood for me many many years ago from tv and i watch that tape so many times that the ribbon melted!
Like you, he is where I became furry, thanks for sharing mate.
Keep up the awesome work and enjoy what you love.

though the movie did not introduce me to the fandom officially, when i watched it i thought this was an interesting way to draw and animate, my art teacher says the hardest subjects to draw are human bodies and animal faces, so technically anthro artists conquer the two hardest subjects in one shot.
I remember what slowly got me into being a furry.i loved watching the jungle book.heh, king Louie was awesome, and Robin Hood was one of my other fav's...and the aristocats..with Abraham de Lacey something something Casey..Thomas o malley...hehehe that stereotype Siamese cat was a hoot
Interestingly, I found this documentary that shows what we have seen all our lives about Robin Hood are maybe about 3 men from separate periods: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yQ38lu-M3w
I love adoring moments like these that always makes me smile. I havent seen that movie in forever. Id always love to hug my hero, even from Disney fiction. Theres always a soft spot in everyones heart, doesnt matter is you say your heart is of stone, love always pulls through. Funny how I changed my character and became a fox. This is one of the cutest Ive ever seen. X3
Aw man, this really does take me back to the younger days. I thought it was such a cool idea when I first saw the movie that animals could talk and be shaped like humans, This definitely was a huge step, if not the first, towards the furry kingdom. :)
I think it's wonderful that you acknowledged it.

man oh man this takes me back....ahhh the good ol' days where you could be care free, get into all sorts of trouble and the sun was your watch.....man....you know what I'm going to "acquire" myself a copy of this movie and watch it again for old times sake. Very, very awesome picture dude!
I'm glad that you had a nice dream regarding your favorite animated movie. Although "Robin Hood" was an underrated film, it did feature nice cute animation and beautiful backgrounds. It's very sad that no one in Hollywood, not even today's Disney, makes these sort of movies anymore, what with every new animated feature made with Pixar-style CG than with animation based on drawn artwork. Not that I am being an anti-CGI animation troll. I do like some CG stuff but I still a much bigger fan of excellent, old-fashioned hand-drawn animation.
Oh, there's loads of books like those. I read one which had Robin Hood post Prince Johns conviction, wherein King Richard personally asked Robin and Little John to return the collected gold to the villagers. No longer being an outlaw, Robin agreed with one request - that he be able to return it in his own fashion (swiping it in secret, to return to the poor)
My love for Robin is eternal. I saw him when i was just a kid and he became my hero right from the start. as i grew up and continued to watch he became more of a love interest. Such a sweet foxy! Honestly there are many furry shows and movies that have come and gone with characters weve loved, but Robin Hod will ALWAYS be the eternal furry heartthrob.
I know it's odd I'm commenting on a decade old post, but this was moving.
I actually skipped out on watching the film while it was playing downstairs, too childish I thought at the time, still haven't forgiven myself for that. (Gonna make amends by going to see it IDK if in theatre's or stream it 'cause it hasn't been revealed if it's gonna return to theatre's for the 50th anniversary)
