I have always preferred a cartoony style than realism, but I'm much better at designing things and coming up with elaborate stories than I am in putting them down into words and pictures. I guess that's autism for ya, on both counts.
Anyway, meet Nleoph! A silly blanket octopus magician with that tentacle-hair I find so adorable. Also a silly ensemble based on personal preference and blanket octopi females' ability to spread a "blanket" cloak of skin out as they swim.
Originally, I was going to have orange splotches all around Nleoph's body as a marking pattern, but I decided to limit it to the freckles. Maybe there's more under their shirt, who knows?
As always, feel free to offer suggestions and comment! Be it on improving my work, what to draw next, or just to ask me something, everything is welcome. (Well, except blatant insults. I don't take kindly to those.)

I was reading that you were having problems from mean, stuck-up people. Don't believe a word they say. If it isn't constructive criticism, like if it doesn't suggest a method, tips, or tricks, THEN IT ISN'T CONSTRUCTIVE TO YOU.
Don't believe a word the mean commentators say, because I rather like your work! Another person who draws like you is doing well for themselves here on FA named
shyanne , so go check them out and see some of their methods like brush widths and shapes.
_suggestion on this art_
The suggestion I want to make really just depends on what latitude your character is in the world. the sky is typically cloudy in more arctic regions and less cloudy in tropical regions around the equator.... Although I have observed the color of the sky looks more grey as you look up. My suggestion is to make the grey-ish blue more of a sky blue. Lighten it up. If it is difficult to imagine with the other colors, make a 'lightening' layer or make a 'screen' layer to take some of the darkness out.
Colors somewhat affect the viewer's emotions. Keep that in mind. Keep up the good work!

Ah, thank you so much! To be honest, my heart was pounding when I saw "1 New Comment", and it took a while before I could look at it! I'm glad you have good suggestions. On the subject of colours, I'll take that to mind. I think what I most need to work on is consistency though. Those rain boots are pretty dissimilar! Depth is also a big thing. Oh gosh, I guess it's true that "artists never like their own work", huh?
Anyway, thank you for the comment, and I'll strive to have my art only improve as time goes on!
