Stole my own comments from my DA account... I'm lazy what can I say.:
This is actually a very old picture. Something I did for my art class during my senior year of high school; nearly 7 years ago.
This is my now deceased cat Miki. We had to put her down a week after the US Thanksgiving, so December 1. She had kidney failure, I was only lucky enough to see her before we put her down as I was visiting that weekend partly as a late Thanksgiving weekend for me and also to see my university's hockey team take on my home town's university hockey team.
She was my cat and I agreed with my parents on it within a few minutes of seeing her. She wasn't walking around much and was sticking to three of the rooms in the house, the bathroom was only because her litterbox was in there and my bedroom and my parents room was on either side of it. The two bedrooms she only used to be near the heating vents we think to try and ease the pain. But she was also trying to avoid everyone. If you were in a room too long she'd switch to the other room.
That gave you the opportunity to see her walk which was a sad sight. Her back legs looked stiff, as if rigger had already set in while she was still alive. I knew that when I saw her walking like that she didn't have long in the first place and was probably in a lot of pain but didn't even have enough of a voice to speak of it.
The real sad thing about this is that she was only a month and a half over seven years old. We did try to keep her going but we could see if was taking too much of a toll on her.
As for the picture, this was done for my art class I was taking in the spring of 2001 when Miki was about 4-6 months old as she was born in October of 2000. In this art class the teacher had us actually learn to draw real/still life objects in different media. One of our projects was to use three different media. He did count pencil and colored pencil as two different media so I added ink to this.
You might not be able to see it too well but I did use color pencil on Miki's eyes which were a very pretty gold color.
Hopefully later I'll have the original picture I sketched this from as I've set my dad to work looking for it to show the difference of it.
Update: My father got me the picture and I've posted it in my scraps as I didn't take the picture myself but have permission from my dad to put it up. ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1005816/ )
