“The Brain Berry is a tart greenish berry that absorbs ambient knowledge from passers-by and the environment around them. Upon digestion of these berries one gains all the information that they contain. While the berries themselves only last a season if plucked and kept cool the information will remain intact for a longer period of time.
The larger the plants, the greater the berries they produce, both in stamina and in capacity. The plants themselves are often transported from planet to planet, needing only a warm climate on a class M. Once they’ve reached maturity the planters plan on returning to the various ports and eating the berries in order to quickly gain intelligence about the location.
Most commonly they are put into a muffin with plenty of sugar to aid the tartness. However they have been known to be converted into a liquor from time to time as well, although mashing the berries sometimes mixes the information and upon absorption can be rather disorienting, however some people go in for that sort of thing.
Don’t even ask about eating the berries grown in brothels.
While their origin is in fact unknown, but many believed to be engineered, however ironically there’s no known information to back that up”
