The Occidental Empire has abandoned military archery for musketry long ago, as bow is a difficult weapon to use for creatures with muzzle. Unlike occident, however, bows were retained in the armories of orient; along with oriental traditionalism and strong love for archery, the fact that archery is included in the six arts(禮, 樂, 射, 御, 書, 數) that Confucian scholars must master disallowed abandoning the weapon. Even after use of muskets became widespread in their army and numbers of archers dwindled continuously, archery was kept as an exam subject for military officers. And thus, even to this day careless young officers scrape their whiskerpads with bowstring and earn another scar.

I love the Korean costumes.
The Korean campaigns against the invading Japanese in the 1500's were particular study of mine. I still have to get to Korea and pay my respects of admiral Yi (one of the world's greatest naval commanders - celebrated by naming a flagship after hm in a SF film script of mine)

Thank you for your appreciation!
Yi Soon shin was truly a great admiral; although I do not believe that Toyotomi Hideyoshi would have suceeded conquering whole Korean peninsula even if admiral Yi did not exist, I think southern part of the land could have well been lost, especially the economically important provinces of Gyeongsang and Jeolla.
It is quite interesting that you studied Japanese invasions of Joseon. I thought outside Northeast Asia, few people were interested in what happened in our corner of the world.

Hence my canines are taught to tilt the bow and point muzzle to target when aiming, though I am unsure whether this will work in real life if such creatures did really exist. Large brimmed hat could certainly cause problem, especially in battles, but this is an exam(or a preparation of); and the royal court requires all participants to adhere to Li(禮), or proper manners and rites, and thus they have to wear them. And they can always tilt the brim slightly up.
In their real-world counterpart culture, Joseon, people did shoot bows while wearing very large brimmed hats. I will link two pictures from the era....

And a picture from a modern reenactment of archery exam, though the archers are wearing much smaller hats.

well it does look like for shooting, The folks in the drawings have tipped their hats back a little out of the way. Lovely garb in the photos, Brilliant colors. One Lupine figured it out. To avoid getting her whisper pads scraped of fur and whiskers, she purchased a Silver Masquerade mask of a Bird, made for Noble Lupines to wear. She has begun teaching other lupines how to shoot a bow, and the use of leather masks to protect the whisker pads. The Humans are not too pleased about this development.
