Artists I commissioned
Commissioning artists is an addiction. I never truly understood the meaning of this saying - until I started to comission artists myself. It's fun to collect the works of such talented people and it's even more interesting to take a look at your character through the eyes of someone who can give his imagination form by drawing a few lines on a piece of paper.
So, to keep track of the comissions I placed (especially the open ones) I'll put them into the comments here.
The way I see commissions
There is no way to draw a commission right or wrong. When I comission an artist I do pay him for his view through his eyes on my fantasies. I can give him a direction, I can describe him what I have in mind. But in the end I have only one reason to comission this one artist: Because I like his style and want him to interpret my idea.
So, usually I'd give reference material and mention details that are important for me. I'd suggest a pose, a scenery I have in mind. But this is just the common ground to start from. From this point on the artist takes control and I trust my character, my ideas into his hands.
Yes. This can lead into disappointment. But I am happily willing to take this risk because usually I am amazed how fantastic the result and outcome of my commissions are.
References for Grimm
Grimm is my main character. He is a live roleplay character and exists only as a fursuit. I do not own a character reference sheet. To be honest I don't want one, as I like to commission interpretations of the "real" Grimm - and not interpretations of a drawn reference sheet (because that would be the interpretation of an interpretation if you get my drift...)
Grimm is basically a a 7' tall, black wolf anthro with a white maw, wearing a tribal outfit.

He is walking digitigrade, please ignore my boots on the pictures.
Grimm's eyes are yellow with a red corona.

As a character sprung from a fantasy setting Grimm has weapons. He prefers two very long daggers that seem to have reptilian scales on their rear side

Grimm does wear a little bit of armor, too. There is a pair of bronze plate mail, muffled with leather, protecting his shoulders,

The most striking features when looking at Grimm are his trinkets. Attached to his left ear is a set of trinkets with wooden beads, feathers and a pair of leaves.
A very similar set of of trinkets with wooden beads, feathers hangs from his left upper arm.

You'll find even more wooden beads around his tail and... more feathers (duh)

You'll find even more photos on my gallery https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery.....rimm-the-wolf/ - just in case I missed a view that you need.
A few thoughts on Grimm's character
Grimm is a very hard character to get into. He has no doubts, no second thoughts. He always seems to know where he stands, does not think in shades of grey as humans always like to do. His only thoughts are focused on those he cares for. If you are familiar with D&D roleplay you could see his alignment as lawful neutral – only trouble is… the laws he lives by aren’t necessarily compatible to human laws. Nevertheless for me this side that is so hard to understand for me as a human is a very important part of the character Grimm.
Don’t be fooled. Just because he is a furry anthro does not mean Grimm lives by any code of honor nor is he a nice and cuddly guy. Grimm lives and thinks like a wolf. He must not risk to be injured, because an injury can lead to his death. And when he is dead he can no longer be of use to those he cares for, those he sees as his “pack”.
That’s why Grimm would seldom attack openly. Confront his opponent face to face would always be his last option. When he is out to kill, he would always try to kill with his first strike and finish his work swiftly and silently. Grimm would not see this as murder, but as necessity, without hate, fear nor excitement.
Playing a character like Grimm as harsh and grim as he is isn't always easy. But venting some steam out through pictures help a lot . Yes, sometimes I love messing with my most badass character a lot. I love the thought of putting him into ridiculous situations and having a hearty laugh at his expense, knowing that this out of character experience will help me a lot to be Grimm in the alien way he is next time I play him.

To our both surprise the picture contained a few mistakes. Alectorfencer was very friendly, supportive and felt awkward for having confused part of the commission. A great person to talk to, even when something goes wrong.

I stumbled across a blog-entry stating that she'd do "quick" sketches right now and stream the work in progress. "Quick"... right. She invested more than 2 hours hard work in my "sketch". I'd call that a full commission, but that's just me.
Still waiting for the finished picture to be send to me by Email

Commissioned a digital sketch of Grimm as patron in the bar of Rammstein's music video "Engel" on June 29th
http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1511546/
Paid in advance
The idea for the "Engel"-theme came while watching her stream. All of sudden I heard her playing Rammtein's Engel in the German original. And then it hit me - pulling Grimm out of his fantasy context and put him into that bar from the video. Kii laughed her head off when she heared it and happily complied.
Big fun.
She agreed to send me the drawing as PSD - I so need to have this one colored

I am surprised that there are people who read all this stuff. This whole blog is kinda my personal notebook because I have such a bad memory. Plus I am not actually an artist myself and don't really expect to generate any interest for my blog entries
