Yes, I'm holding a contest, for FA members only! I'll do another one for DeviantArt, so if you're a member there keep watch for it (although I need to do more planning for it first.)

The contest is...make an artwork of my fursona! It feels awkward not having a fursona since practically everyone here has one. However, I do have one. It's not a character persona, but more of an animal in spirit. Since my sister

’s fantasy novel Amber's Adventure though, my animal spirit has gained a description. So read the description and guidelines below and you could win a wonderful prize (if you want to donate a prize for more participating incentive, I'd welcome it.)

Fursona description:
Species: grizzly bear (in size, proportion, and stature)
Sex: Female
Color: black bear in coloration with neutral colored (hazel, greys, little white) swirl pattern. (be creative with the pattern, it can be a connected swirly pattern or spot like swirls.) Eyes are slate blue. Fur on head and nape may be more dirty blonde.
Notes: Usually doesn’t wear clothes, maybe a loin cloth, has a feral and an antrho form. In anthro form, body proportion is bottom heavy (thick thighs, big butt, flabby gut) and underdeveloped breasts. Fur is thick and more curly on head, nape, and center of back. Enjoys wearing jewelry of natural creation – seeds, flowers, bones or claws, vines, gourds, scales, feathers, etc.
Personality: Strong-willed, persistent, creative/resourceful, and sensitive. Is known to be a defender and can be incredibly stubborn. When riled up she can be extremely aggressive, but most of it is a front. To those she’s close to she’s sensitive, caring, and a listener (but when playing the motherly role, she’s also stern). She likes to solve problems and is a philosophical thinker. Something of a pack rat, she collects many natural objects to use it in artwork later. When alone she’s quiet and observant, taking in the world around her. She creates artwork only in the seclusion of her home in the silence of night.

Contest Guidelines:
• Make an artwork, in any medium, of the described fursona above. It can be a ref or a full picture and you can enter as many times as you want. You can use the feral or the antrho form.
• Deadline, September 30, 2010 (USA time, please check when that is for you if you’re not in the US) Anyone can enter worldwide.
• NO YIFFY. Tasteful nudity is fine. Other characters are allowed but my fursona must be the center of attention.
• If you want to ask questions about specifics, please note me. When your entry is done, note me with a link to the submission and I’ll add the link to this journal.

Judging:
There will be a first, second, and third place winner. Judging is based off accuracy of the subject and creativity of the design. You don’t need to be a professional artist to win! The artwork can be a lineart, full color, or representational, but note that I can tell when effort is put into an artwork. Do your best!

Prizes:
• 1st place gets:
o A 5x7” painting (custom or choose from what I have available) SENT TO THEM regardless of location OR an 8x10” custom, full detail digital artwork (also can be printed and sent)
o A choice of a small devil claw sculpture OR a small gourd sculpture (subject of choice or choose from what I have) SENT TO YOU
o A feature on FA and DA from me and

o An artwork from Meroe1313^
o A feature on my website, www.carabevan.com

• 2nd place gets:
o A 2.5x3.5” ACEO painting (custom or choose from what I have available) SENT TO THEM regardless of location OR a 5x7” custom digital artwork of character with simple background (also can be printed and sent.)
o A feature on FA and DA from me and Meroe1313

• 3rd place gets:
o A detailed drawing of a character of choice, will be sent upon request regardless of location
o A feature on FA and DA from me and Meroe1313
o A drawing from Meroe1313
