Red Lantern

So, this is it. My official information post for the upcoming graphic novel Alectorfencer and I are working on, together. We'll be starting to post it very soon, and I wanted to make the announcement about the project before then.
First off, 'Red Lantern' is a collaboration between myself and the beautiful and HIGHLY talented
Alectorfencer. I'll be responsible for character artwork/color, and story, and she'll be handling backgrounds, landscapes, and environmental details. For the first sneak peak at how we're merging our styles, you can see one of the pages in progress, here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4500416
Red Lantern will be released starting in October, likely the first or second week. We'll be posting a page every week, I'm thinking on Wednsdays. It's a good 'middle of the week' day. The pages will be posted on this FA account, on Alector's FA account, and on an independent website. These pages will be free to read, and no part of the story-relevant pages will be withheld. The only content we intend to withhold for the eventual release is the 'adult' version of the comic. The version we post online will be rated 'R', at the most. The rating is for adult language, violence, and adult situations.
Red Lantern, Book 1: The Crimson Divine will be approximately 70-80 pages, full-color, and will be the starting book in a four to five volume-long series. We're looking at a late 2011, possibly VERY early 2012 release date, for the final printed release. But it's a ways off, so it's not even worth getting into details on that quite yet.
For all who want an inkling ahead of time, we have a small teaser, here. Or you can just wait to read!
- Red Lantern - The Crimson Divine -
On a small, isolated island run by ruthless gangs and powerful crime families lies a town of brothels and drug dens, serving all who come into port. The natural barrier of the sea makes escape for anyone nearly impossible, and most live out their lives with no hope of buying their freedom from the oppressive hyena gangs that own them.
Amon is one such indentured servant. Sold into the life from a young age, he's passed his 30th year, and approaching the end of his usefulness to his Madame. With far too much left to repay to earn his freedom, his outlook is bleak. And then, he is given the humiliating task of training his replacement, a young, exotic tiger whose naivete and innocence make his indoctrination into the brothel life even more difficult.
War rages in the waters surrounding the small Shanivaar islands, and naval soldiers are spilling into port in droves. Could these foreigners be the salvation the captive workers so gravely need, or do they bring nothing but danger from abroad?
I'm open for any and all questions. I'll try to address as many as I can. Feel free to post them here.
Looking forward to getting started on another comic journey with you all! Thanks so much for reading, as always!

Shit be exploding yo.
eeeehhh i can't wait for the comic. I love both yours and Alector's art styles. You merged them seamlessly with the preview you gave us.
So now, once I get a hold of this comic... I'll most likely be foaming at the mouth on the first page. :D
If you ever need matting and framing services, I'm happy to oblige. :)
Um is my character already rooted into the story or will he be placed in whereever?
As to m/f *porn*. . . it's less important to the story, but it's still there.
What is the "are you kidding me?" applied to? Male prostitutes are rare...but unless I've misunderstood, isn't that what the main characters are? Rare or not, how does that make m/f unrealistic?
I only ask because I tend to avoid things like that, I'm depressed already.
I'm guessing that 'Red Lantern' is a play on Red Light District then?
Anyway this sounds like it'll be a good read and I look forward to it.
It's because of the evil cackle of DOOM, isn't it?
or did you order through furplanet? I can't do anything about those orders, I'm afraid
