As with any advertising, insulting the prospective customer is always a bad idea ;)
At that when I did mine it was meant to be a horrible pun. It be more appropriate that you complained how I didn't make mine really come over well enough as a button as it grew into a full sized image instead of a mini-button.

popularity = more votes
As for the relevance of 'cub porn artist', that all comes down to the fact that such work is very popular on this site and there's a large number of people producing it. Let us not forget the furry paedophilia drama that flared up a while ago and how popular such work was deemed to be by those voting.
Still, this is not a journal for drama, though I'm sure my posts verge on the inflammatory at times.
1.) Popularity
2.) Appeal
If they were afraid of people voting for popularity, they could have just with held artist names until after one is chosen.
Not to be rude but that's not how politics works, is it?
Having the names withheld wouldn't change much of anything.
Didn't matter that it was furries, if we were dealing with the general populace, odds are, the most votes would still be for a sexual image or similar. People like it, so they'd probably be more likely to donate, rather than having something bland and noninteresting to them.
There are enough stereotypes and drama about this fandom and its members as it is; I don't see the need to add to that with something so potentially offensive -- not when there are plenty of other choices that don't come so close to crossing the line.
*smiles and shrugs* But I'll probably get flamed (or called overly PC) for saying such a thing, so we'll just have to see how the voting turns out.
Ah well, I suppose the moderators feel it is better to have a button to get money than a button to make the site more acceptable to those not too interested in the adult aspects of the scene.
I mean, honestly, anybody looking at my gallery and/or favorites (anyone who's able to see mature work, anyway) can tell that I'm not exactly a prude or one of those ultra-PC offended-by-absolutely-everything crusaders. ;) And I'm certainly not trying to insult the artist or anything like that. I guess, if anything, all I'm asking is for admin to consider all the implications before going ahead with it if it does win.
I'm pretty sure it as designed with the thought of taking the sting out of "the word."
But honestly (and forgive my use of vocabulary), if you take "faggot" out and substitute "nigga" there'd be a whole lot of drama... lots of it, and yet both words are similar when taken out of context.. which they are bound to have done to them.

All the votes put in after the deadline can't be counted as allot of people that would have voted have not because it's after the dead line, so in that way the voting would be skewed if those votes are counted.
I'm honestly disappointed in the lack of response to this journal. If you are holding a contest and a vote you really should be on top of it. It's almost getting to the point were the vote will have to be held again if the admin in charge of it dose not sort it all out soon and at least tell us what is going on.
