Healing and Ponies
First, news on my recovery:
Nearly 4 months since the accident now. My arm has healed, although the metal bits will remain in there unless and until they start causing trouble.
For those who may be interested, here are scans of the X-rays of my arm:

The first two are from when I was first admitted to the hospital, back in July. The latter two are from my last visit to the orthopedic doctor, 6 weeks after I was released.
The last CT scan to make one last check for any issues in my braincase was all clear. As I expected, but still good to have the official word from the docs.
Rubber bands in my mouth have been all gone for a while, and my jaw muscles (which had shrunk, limiting how far I could open my mouth) are gradually getting back to normal. I can almost eat normally again, with the only limitation being that I can’t fit large stuff (like most places’ burgers) in my mouth yet. Got an appointment to get the braces out on Nov. 8th.
And now, on to the next subject: Ponies.
Yes, I have finally joined the herd. :P
I watched the first two episodes (the two-part pilot) a couple of months ago. I deemed it good enough to watch the rest, eventually, and far better than I had any reason to expect of something bearing the “My Little Pony” brand; but between going back to work and getting distracted with other stuff in my free time (like playing through Oblivion one more time in preparation for Skyrim), I didn’t get around to continuing it…until this past Tuesday.
What prompted it was actually this video, which
ArrowTibbs linked me to in a Skype chat
(WARNING: Explicit lyrics)
She sent me that link like two weeks ago; the song got stuck in my head, and whenever I thought of the song, I thought of ponies (mainly Rainbow Dash). This past Tuesday, I had the day off from work, so I sat down and binged through the entire rest of the series (at the time, up through “Luna, Eclipsed”).
I must say, I am highly impressed. Lauren Faust has managed to turn something made almost entirely of glurge into something I (a soon-to-be 27-year-old male) can unashamedly completely geek out on. A good setting with well-developed, three-dimensional characters, a good story, and very well-written and well-executed scripts, with plenty of hooks to hang on to the interest of people outside of the supposed target demographic. I will definitely be keeping track of new episodes as they come out (as well as spending copious amounts of time on TV Tropes pages related to the series :P ).
Yep. I’m a brony. XD And the cool part is, I don’t have to change species to create an in-universe persona, since dragons do canonically exist in Equestria. :P

:D Good news to hear, I should've checked your journals sooner. How much physical therapy are you having to go through?

OP
None. Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy evaluators both gave me a pass when they checked me out. :) I was a bit weak for a while, because I'd been IV-fed for 4 days and bed-ridden for a week, and only gradually regained my ability to eat a normal diet, but I was only house-bound for a week or two after I got out of the hospital. I've been back at work full-time for a couple of months now.
