Magic Tournament FAQ
Q: How is it played?
A: The tournament is played over a program called Cockatrice, it’s a free program you download and register and allows you for complete access from every card in Magic’s vast history.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Usually its 3$ per person for the entry fee, but there are some variant formats where I charge more for different prizes.
Q: What is the prize?
A: The prize is Artwork of your character or anything you want varying by prize payout.
4 Players – 1 Colored Sketch to winner
8 Players – 1 Flat Color to winner, 1 non color sketch to 2nd place
12 Players – 1 Light Shaded Flat Color Lines to winner, 1 color sketch to 2nd place
16 Players and Up will have prizes determining payout.
Q: Any art I want?
A: Yes but you have to follow certain guidelines. No vore, scat/watersports, diapers, cub, gore, death will be posted on the MagicFurs page. (Meaning the artist and I won’t allow it to be drawn up as a prize.)
Q: How long is the tournament, I can’t be around on Friday nights sometimes.
A: That’s the great thing, you just contact your opponent over notes on FA and when you get a chance you play and post the results on the Tournament Posting Page. We do that for each round.
Q: Is it single Elimination?
A: For players 4-7 it will be single elimination. 8+ Will be Swiss format and a cut to top 4 which is single elimination.
Q: What are the formats?
A: They depend tourney to tourney, some weeks it will be Standard or Modern, however there’s the chance of EDH or Legacy even (Maybe.) And sometimes even a Duels of the Planeswalkers Specialty Event.
Q: We use what program? Cockatrice?
A: Yes. To get to it go to http://www.cockatrice.de
Q: Help! I don’t know how it works!
A: Simple ask around for games, people would be happy to help, also http://cockatrice.de/dokuwiki/doku.php FAQ and all the Information to help you start!
Q: So I’m sold on this, how do I pay for it?
A: Great question. We accept only paypal in the form of a gift, unless you are willing to pay any of the fees that come across with paypals transfer service. (So far gifting 3$ doesn’t accumulate a fee.) Also remember to put your FA name in the message box with your 3$ so I know it is you.
Q: Great where do I sign up?
A: On the journal. Just put your name and send your money at least one day before the tournament start date! You’ll be assigned a number as confirmation of your payment.

As I have not used cockatrice mainly because it would not load correctly.
Mws has ways around the lack of pics supposedly.
I just like it because it works on my system
and it was the first I came to.
(lets not speak of apprentice) :P
