Breeding Your Freets

Freets can also be found in my dA gallery, here, where I'll post up some premade Freets to pick and choose from, from time to time.
Breeding your Freets is completely free, and all owners are encouraged to try it at least once! There are very few requirements, and breeding will be the only way to get new mutations to surface.
To breed your Freet, you have to make sure that you have an eligible Freet of the opposite sex available for breeding, and keep in mind that you can only put in one breeding request per Freet per breeding cycle. The breeding cycles are short, basically the time between the release of two Freet batches on deviantArt (between a week and a month, more likely to be towards the low end).
There are three ways to breed Freets:
#1: Own both a male and a female Freet, and breed them together. To do this, simply comment on this entry (or whatever equivalent I make over on dA) and state which Freets you'd like to breed together.
#2: Make an arrangement with another Freet owner. To do this, each person needs to comment and tell me which Freet of theirs they want to breed, with which Freet of their partner's.
#3: Random breedings. These will be distributed by timestamp, and only if there are eligible Freets of the opposite sex available. Comment and state which Freet of yours you would like to enter for an open breeding, and I will pair them up with the first available Freet of the opposite sex.
When making one of these comments, you must always include your Freet's ID number (found in the image file name and in the title of their dA submission). This is to make sure there are no mix-ups, since I won't be policing names. You may also include one male and one female name that you'd like for the offspring, to streamline the graphic creation process, but that's strictly voluntary.
When Freets are bred, under normal circumstances three kits will be generated, entirely by random though based on the parents' genetics. Colors will be picked by randomizing a point between the parents' color, plus or minus ten points in each color (red, green, blue, the base colors that make up all colors on screen), and mutation genes picked by randomizing a list of each possible result, with a tiny chance of spontaneous mutation on homozygous loci. The sex of the kits will also be determined by a random number generator.
(If you don't understand the above, just know that I randomize the colors and mutation genes of the offspring based on the parents genetics.)
In each litter, one kit will go to the owner of the sire, one to the owner of the dam (so if you own both parents you get two new Freets), and one will show up in the next batch of pregenerated Freets for adoption on dA. Breeders are strongly discouraged from claiming their own Freets' offspring from these batches, though may choose to donate one or more of their kits from the breeding to the adoption pool if they wish.
In the future, I may introduce some breeding challenges for Freets, with a variety of prizes. These range from obtaining specific colors to breeding Freets with specific mutations. Happy breeding!

Names... hm. Kinda depends on how the color spread turns out, honestly. I can't really think of generic names this time around; if possible I'd like to see what the colors are first.
