Well, personally I go a bit more reptilian than anything in my junk as that's kinda the closest thing there is to a reference. A cock slit instead of a cock sheath, and a tapered cock kinda like a lizard.

As stated before, rather to see vaginal use over cloaca unless the artist can actually draw the cloaca properly. Most who do the more feral reptiles and dragons are able to pull this off with the cloaca.

for the anthro avian male, I feel the penus should be a long and tapered shaft, more pointed and not having as much as a large head to it like human or some other animals do. Figure for sliding in easier and not being too difficult, (think if you were to have sex in the air and instead of mid-air cloaca kiss, the birds had a cock and needed to find the target faster and get in quickly)

For this, it would be fine and having the member come out of the cloaca can work well, just like most other animals that have one opening and have penises (think most reptiles, dolphins) So internal testicals and extending penises from a cloaca would work well.

To be honest, it comes down to the artist who is doing the piece with this subject, I have seen where feral avians that are not water fowl have a penis, and it worked well (making it something that is on more familiar grounds for most people). I have also seen anthro and feral art that depicted the males as having just cloaca's and no penis and did the cloaca kiss (I love me some male tribbing :p) or they used a strap on/feeldoe for the penetration stimulation. So it comes down to the art and how well the artist can make it work. But I think when it comes to feral, keeping closer to actual anatomy is a plus, but no harm in being creative too!

I'm all for the nipples on some sexy birdy breast. That should be a given. But as for belly buttons, I don't think they are necessary nor should be added due to how all birds that i have ever known about ALL lay and hatch from eggs. However, if the avian has obvious mammal heritage (such as gryphon types), the possibility of an avian having a belly button can be acceptable in the idea that the avian was birthed instead of hatched.

My general opinion is you're as open to an avian's sexual anatomy as you are to a dragon's. A dragon's cock is about as imaginary as a bird's, because they both simply don't exist (with the exception of a few)! That's why I imagine you see felines or canines following a standard, but dragons tend to be a mix and match of anything... You really can't be wrong with an imaginary creature, let alone an imaginary cock, can you?

As far as cloacas go I don't like them, how could I really know if I do either? As a human I can't relate with them so I'd prefer to avoid them.

Nipples! I notice you generally don't see breasts without them, or pecs with them (though a bit more abundant on pecs). I prefer no nips on the pecs, nips on the breasts, and a belly button just seems like a personal preference to me as they don't add much.

As the term "anthro" indicate something humanlike, I prefer mammalian features on anthro females. That said, them having overly huge breasts won't do. Can't disrupt aerodynamics too much! On ferals... Leave them out, please.

I prefer anthros with vulvas. Ferals, cloaca is preferred for the sake of realism, though I'm sort of wondering how practical it would be to role-play a character with those features. Yet I can't imagine forsaking anatomy in favour for a mammalian approach - that would, in order to make it plausible, and possible for me to retain my suspension of disbelief, require a thoroughly explained revamp of the ENTIRE reproductive system.

I might be shifting towards using a slightly mammalian-leaning modification of a cloaca in writing (haven't done such, but if I ever were to dabble with that), but in visual art, I stand as above: cloaca on female ferals, vulvas on the anthro ladies.

Firstly, I want the thing to be able to hide in a slit of sorts. This would assure the aerodynamics/streamlined features when necessary. Balls would be inconvenient- requires a temperature shift, and the creature needs to not have any potentially easily damaged body parts - a bird is, essentially, glorious efficiency, and any external features would hinder that image. Otherwise, penis/shaft is ok.

Tapered makes the most sense to me - I guess I'm combining this with dolphin features, though I need to consider it some more. But for now- tapered, or a slight modification of the human look can do. But it must be in proportion to the male in question!

Only gonna say one thing...

Breasts on female GRYPHONS are fine. The mammal part of them comes with mammaries. But on anthro Avians that AREN'T gryphons/hippogryphs/peryons...nope nope nope.

I'm generally open to whatever people want to use.  oovie's comment earlier, comparing the birds' situation to the dragons', probably explains it best. Anatomic accuracy becomes far less important once you entirely rearrange the species' skeleton into an anthro.
