STORY COMMISSIONS GUIDE
So, you’ve read one of my stories, seen me
Pricing:
Pricing is determined on a per page basis. While the formatting options for the finished product can be altered to suit your needs, prices will be based around these dimensions:
Page Size - Letter 8.8” x 11” with 1” margins
Font - Arial, Size 12
Paragraphs - 1.15 line spacing
These dimensions are how the story's length will be judged for payment purposes, and can be altered afterwards. That means that if you want a larger font size for the finished product, you will not be punished for it, because the price remains the same! Upon completion of the commission you will receive a digital copy of the story in the basic format and, if requested, another copy with whatever formatting options you want to include.
General Prices:
Non-Adult Writing: $8 per page
Adult Writing: $10 per page
Pages are an ‘at least’ quantity: a 20-page commission will be at least 20 full pages long. Likely, it will be 20 full pages and 1 partially filled page. If I go over the commissioned length while writing it, you get the extra pages for free!
Example Stories:
The Prodigiously Pregnant Pony of Ponyville – 11 pages, 5803 words.
Cynthissis – A Xenomorph’s Tale (Chapter 2) – 15 pages, 7792 words.
Mass Effect Commission – 21 pages, 10,543 words.
Stipulations About Content:
I’m a very open minded person when it comes to kinks - here’s my F-List as an example - but when I’m RPing with people, I do have some things I’m not interested in. However, commissioned stories are a different beast entirely. Things that I do not like to RP about can be included within a story, but for an increased price. I write because I want to get better at it and enjoy the art of it; when it’s not fun, it’s not fun. The list of what I really dislike is fairly small, though, and will be handled on a case-by-case basis. But feel free to ask!
Payment:
I prefer using PayPal so I can send invoices, and I accept payment in American Dollars - or gold bullion. If you want to pay another way, just talk to me about it and we’ll see what we can work out. However, I do require payment first before I begin – writing even a short story is a large time investment, and with a job and school, I can’t risk a lack of payment for my work.
Last Points:
And that’s it! If you wish to commission a story from me, just send me a note here on FA and I’ll help you out with the rest of the details and how to proceed. When it comes to writing I prefer to write in Google Docs, which has the added bonus of allowing you to keep a track of the progress in real time AND gives you a perfect way to offer instant feedback to me while writing. A fun way to have a real and profound say in just how your story comes out!

Hey, the more, the merrier! We need more high quality literature, not less!

Why not trying to charge per word?

Eh, I had that originally, but I found that harder to justify - how is someone going to know how many words will be in a commission? Plus, I had the fear that it would make it seem like I was going to support padding just to fill a commission. This way, I guarantee something firm, and will give up to a free page to finish it reasonably and meeting their expectations.

Well, microsoft word shows you how much words are in the document and padding becomes noticeable in the writing style. I like long descriptions but someone else could think it's padding so you have to change your style depending on the costumer. But I see your point there. ;)

Yeah. It's just a bit easier, in the end.
