What I learned:

Canadians and Americans eat very similar, except Canadians eat less and prefer frozen pizza.

The Japanese family were watching what I can only assume is the Japanese Dracula.

Ecuador is a nation full of Freddy Kruegers.

Its funny you mention the Canadians and their frozen pizza...my boyfriend is Canadian and loves him some frozen pizzas

Step one is look at what kind of foods they're into, step two is all the other layers of info you can extract - facial expressions, and most interestingly for me, quantity. Mali and Chad, not a lot of diversity of the food but I'd be cool with that as it looks like there's enough for a week. France, that lasts a week, really?

Yeah at first I thought Mali and Chad look really meager, and in terms of diversity/variance of dishes it probably is fairly repetitive. But on second inspection a lot of it is grains, which go a long way.

France seems like a lot of food, I didn't notice the second table full of stuff in the distance.

I'm a food-as-fuel guy, so probably wouldn't object to nothing but the grains, I was just heartened to see that it was enough quantity.

I find trying to see how many vegetables everyone has very interesting!

Haha yeah <3 I was also interested in seeing how many packaged foods each country was buying. Britain totally surprised me in that department, but I might be the only one.

Yeah my assumption is that the displayed amount of food is supposed to feed everyone in the photo. When you start looking at each of the photos while dividing the food among the number of people it adds another layer of information.

Germans apparently consume tons of liquids!

I think I've seen this before and it's always funny to me, because I do all of the grocery shopping every week for my family (there are 4 of us) and I probably buy only half or maybe even a third of the groceries that American family has.
