Conversion Therapy/Reparative Therapy Petition

Hi all,
This petition was brought to my attention, and honestly, I fully support it. The petition is for banning all Conversion Therapy/Reparative Therapy and all "ex-gay" ministries.
When I first attempted to transition, after coming out to my parents, they forced me to go to a reparative therapist. Thankfully, after one session I lied to my parents and told them I realized it was a terrible mistake and had no more interest in being a woman. It was a good enough lie to keep me from going back (plus the high cost and ridiculous distance we had to drive.) Even after one session, it kept me feeling horrible about myself. Guilty, is how I felt, over being myself.

I never needed to "come out" to my adopted parents, they didn't care -So long as I didn't make waves.
What's the big deal?
That's what I went with in my 20's. No need to "go public".
They asked once and I said "no" and that was that.
I had guys from work (Disney) over all the time. We'd sleep upstairs in the guest room and screw. If they knew, they never said anything because all the guys at Disney were wholesome people and salt of the earth.
What can I say?

To claim homosexuality or transgender to be a disease would be the same as calling religion a disease or psychological delusion.
