A few years back I was taking part in a Role Playing game of my friend's devising, called Fate; this particular campaign seeing me play as the 'mad scientist' Dr. Ted. Dr. Ted was in fact a sorcerer, though his knowledge of medicine and biology was phenomenal. His method of casting was somewhat unorthodox; having bound various creatures to marbles, he would throw the glass spheres against the ground causing the bindings to be broken and the creature to be summoned at that point.

As he was useless in a fistfight, it became necessary for him to carry his marbles around while grouped with the somewhat trigger happy crowd he happened to be dragged across the universe with. Screams of "I've lost my marbles!" We're frequent, with the average passer-by unaware of the grave danger that particular phrase entailed.

The creatures linked to this description were all created with the sole purpose of being used in the campaign, and although some were used quite often, others were not.
