They make these particular scents that attract mates and signify their willingness to mate. Perhaps they can control these pheromones and use them to attract partners? Maybe some can have pheromones strong enough to addict their partners.
They can have magical abilities. Like Ryiam's magic ability is both darkness & ice. They need special genes from the original Sholf (Ryiam) or have the same gene to have two abilities. They're incredible swimmers and love fights and wars, it doesn't exist any female Sholf's. Because of the lack of females the male can choose to be the sub and get cubs. Really few of the Sholfs likes Dubstep as much as Ryiam does. Sholfs doesn't get born like other species. They get created by the hatred, pain and war the humans and anthros have. It's also really rare that they're blind in any way (But Gauge & Ryiam are an exception). When a Sholf chooses a mate, one of the two partners will turn into a lighter color than the other one. But if one of them already is light then they don't change. Each Sholf has their own mating call that is different from Sholf to Sholf. The Dom Sholfs can hear the difference between a Dom Sholf's mating call and a sub Sholf's mating call.
Because of their wolf genes they can be a little aggressive towards each other, most Sholfs gathers in packs. Some Sholfs follows their shark instinct to be all alone. Ryiam follows his shark instincts to be alone all the time, he even tries to avoid his own little brother at times. Sholfs are rarely like wild animals when it comes to pain. A wild animal would normally hide their weakness and such, but the Sholfs shows it fully to each other. Ryiam is an exception. Even if he broke his legs he still would hide it. Sholfs will also get a Companion or partner (a feral animal.) when they reach a mature age. The original (Ryiam) is the only one that can have more than one companion and he can have big companions too. There does exist albino Sholfs, but they're VERY rare. Sholfs can also make a mating wave/signal through their markings.
