I've been going through some small steps to begin my move, been saving all of the images I collected in my message box, and even going through my favorites to save them. Sort of removing temptation as it were. Once I've finished going through my favorites, the next part is to go through my own submissions, I'm going to pick the pictures I really liked, while ignoring the ones that I feel could of been much much better. The third step I'm taking is to draw up my own redirect image for commissions and such, this will be my way of convincing people to e-mail me instead of sending me a note over FA, gmail is pretty darn good as you can attach reference images to whatever you want to see me draw. The image I will use will hopefully convince you to look at my gallery on weasyl/tumblr/deviantart whenever I finish a commission so you can look at it and say: "Hey, I like this, I'll save it to my computer. :3" After about a month, I will be gone from furaffinity, I'm sure if you're a real fan of my work, you won't let this stop you from following my work, I'm still very much online, just at a different place now and I highly urge you to watch me on those sites.




Now... I'm going to give you all my final thoughts on this while trying to keep this as civil as I possibly can. I've seen both sides of the arguments being made here, from those that defend, and from those that accuse. There are a lot of things that are not right from either side and I could honestly chalk up one as being foolishly naive and stupid at the time, while the other was just plain manipulative and evil who's actions belittle their defense. Honestly though, I am not going any further than that as I've already got my own opinions on the matter. I'd rather just list down OTHER reasons why I am not sticking around.

Firstly, I do not like the management, it has proven to be quite incompetent with how to run a website, frequent black outs that last for days, the hiring of questionable staff, failure to update the site plus the removal of those who were going to do so, and the general hostile attitude it has. This is the kind of stuff I see on DA, and it's one reason why I am not so active there. I can understand that with running a huge website like this can be a royal pain in the ass, but a lot of this stuff could of been avoided if they had only had the brains to foreseen the consequences of their actions, both good and bad.

Adding to that, my second reason for wanting to leave is because of guys like Angry Joe, Jirard the Completionist, Channel Awesome, Dapshow, and the Valve Corporation. I've got connections to them, but through me they could have connections to all of this. I love those guys too much to have this be connected to them, and to want to sever ties with me because of this. There is a lot of nasty stuff here, and again... I don't want that shit to come around and bite them on the ass just because they are friends with me. As far as I can tell, they tolerate what I am, I don't want to see how far that limit can be pushed.

The next reason... is the community. Frankly... any furry community is a mess, but it seems to be more prominent here more so than anywhere else. I've had my fair share of creepy comments, people who just fave the more fetish related stuff, that's pretty fucking standard and I tolerate it. However, recently I've been seeing a lot more of the bad side of the people here who just want to be noticed and admired by the popular crowd, people acting out against others who just want to leave, people drawing art relating to the recent drama for the sake of flame baiting, awful comments, awful journals, and just a severe lack of empathy/interest in seeing both sides of the story. It's people at their worst, I don't have any regrets for distancing myself from that.

Last, there are just better places to settle down in. Let me ask you this, how many of you are proud enough to share your furaffinity address with others? Personally I just tell others "Don't bother with my FA stuff, you wouldn't like it." and leave it at that. I'd rather have the opportunity to show off more professional sites that can be managed easier and show my more professional stuff. Deviantart is a great site to show off work, so long as you completely control what you put up there, while being mindful of how you act. Tumblr can act as a blog for stuff you wish to share with friends, or as a way to archive the work you have done through multiple blogs. While Weasyl has a lot of similarities to FA, you can customize your page, organize photos, and it's being updated constantly with user feedback. It's not perfect and is lacking a lot of features that FA had that I normally liked, but it's something that I can easily settle down in. I kinda wish it included the fetish search (yes I'm a sleeze...), but I feel like it's unnecessary in the end, and became way too much of a distraction at times.




I will admit that I did enjoy most of my time here, but I can't linger here any longer. I'm sorry if you feel like my decision to leave is an unwise one, but my mind is set.
