ROOMIES.... is over
ROOS. Yes, Roos. The more roos the better. Thicktails galore.
Now before you all start on that stupid furry emo drama garbage, let me just get it out simply that I came to the end of ROOMIES as I had planned out in advance and it's done.
I haven't shut it down for any other reason than it was time to do so. Too many other webcomics keep going long after they stopped being funny (Kevin and Kell) or should have been shut down years previously. I didn't want ROOMIES to go on as a shadow of its former self. It's been a fun ride but it's time for it to end while it was is 'on top' so to speak.
I just completed the layouts for Book 4 and it should be available in dead tree version at Further Confusion in January if all goes well.
I hope to have my NEW comic series, SCAVENGERS, which you have seen bits of already here on FA, starting in January.
As for the ROOMEIS cast, I expect I'll still toss out a strip or two here and there, but nothing regular to warrant a website presence.
So it's all good. I'm sad to see it end, but it also couldn't go on forever. It's been nearly 10 years and 1200 strips. Whew! That's just an incredible number to even consider.

Perhaps you could try a spinoff comic with a few characters sometime if you feel the itch? :P
Also, kudos on having had an ending planned out. One of the things that really gets me is when a decently written strip goes episodic and loses some of what made it great.
Good luck on Scavengers, I'll be looking forward to the launch, as it were ;)
... and those 1200 strips could still use a better archiving system.
I suppose, if I wanted to gripe, I might have suggested posting notice sooner about the series ending, but would that have made much difference? Maybe. Maybe not. My only real regret was I never did get around to guesting for ya!
Oh, well, maybe next series. ;)
Well anyways .. thank you Flinters for all those years of makin us (your fans) smile and happy with your work :) Roomies was allways fun and the only webcomic, that i followed up (beside of WCOTP). I'll miss the guys and gals. Especially "Flinters" the pony. I would love to know that he's not dead (Jim) but i know he is.
Thanks again and all the best

Well I guess now is a good time to tell you I've been reading a week's worth of comics in advance by changing the filenames on the images.
Wait...
IT'S OVER ALREADY!!!! NOOOO!!!!
I haven't even read one strip yet! ONE!!!
My own comic is currently planned to end around 2015(7 years), although that's just a rough guess at the moment, considering I'm still in my first year. I do not want it to go past 10 years, though.
Quick spoiler for my comic: Kenny dies at the end.
Kidding. Love the comic, will probably buy the Big Book O' Roomies if it ever goes to press.
I just hope you keep the archives accessible, atleast.
Suggestion, put a statement on the site saying that the comic has ended so that those who do not have an FA account don't think you died or something. =P hehehe
From what you've shared so far, SCAVENGERS looks like it will be a neat new storyline to follow. I've always liked SciFi stories so I'm interested to see how it continues...
Beter to drop the final curtain while the people still want more then waiting till your comic gets tired and stale like so many others stretched beyond their lifespan.
I'll miss it but great run man. Been fun reading it for all these years.
Mmmmmm toast :)
And just remember... Bloome County had a few spinoffs... albeit not as good as the original, but there were still 'one off' kindsa things.
Who knows, your Muse might still get you occasionally.
Good comic, though. Very good.
That's just SPOOKY! because......
FURRY + EMO = DRAMA !!!!!!
Was going to add some drama but I don't do it well :P
especially the Pony Power! :)
*hoof it*

So, thousand thanks for thousand of strips with pony and tiger, and others.
Maybe you could consider some group portrait for the goodbye panel?
*brings mint*
Anyway, ten years of strips is a very good body of work, and nothing to sneeze at. Hopefully I'll be able to snag a dead tree collection of it eventually. I'll send you some altoids mints or maybe some mint schnapps when I do.
Thanks for the fun, and I'm looking forward to your next project. And if you want to revisit roomies sometime, I'd love to see some of the adult side stories that you couldn't show in the main strip continuity. *grins*
It was fun reading it, thanks!
I'm looking forward to more of the new "Scavengers".
Will those be posted to your FA?
(^.^)
I can't wait the new SCAVENGERS strips!
Actually, I'd guessed this was the end a bit ago, right when the first strip "missed". I was just hoping I was wrong.
Excellent run of work, Great comic, Flinters, and a good ending.
"Cleveland". Maybe they'll run into cousin Gloria.
So, congrats on ending it on YOUR terms! And ending it when it's still great.

But it's been a great run. Been reading it at the beginning, and loved every minute :).
Now looking forward to Scavengers. Just be sure to post a note here so your fans know when it's starting

I do want to thank you though for having made it and worked on it, it was a wonderful comic ^_^
If not, could you upload the rest of them to your VLC page?
VCL still exists?
Would you consider selling an archive CD sometime?
Yup! VCL is still hosting your uploads from '95-'04!
