Hello all fellow fur's.
I have finally started my own annual Fur meet.
It will be called FurMall

~Date:
I plan to have the meet on the 4th weekend, Saturday May 24th or Sunday May 25th. (I decided this Weekend because of Mothers day May 11th.)
Now if y'all think we should change the date, say so Just keep in mind everyone else who will be attending.
I will announce final date in a new journal Mothers day week(5th-9th)

~Time:
This is undetermined, but i'm thinking 11-6 area window, depending on when people wanna start, Cause thinking of lunch/dinner, and Day all take into account for this meet up.

~Fursuit:
I highly encourage this, I think people will get a kick out of this and so will the many children coming.
If you dont want to wear fursuit you dont have to. Keep in mind there will be now Headless lounges obviously.

~Events/Games:
Well we are at the mall, theres tons to due, but I will also be bringing
Cards, 10 people Domino set,
Also other ideas will be a mini Art and poetry/writing contest with prizes
If you have any other idea please let me know

~Food:
Depending on time, I figured we could meet in Food court and people could eat first and or we could hang out and eat dinner together at a different location depending on events and time.
Also I am willing to bring brownies and cookies.
Also with others help we could all bring enough food to have our own Mall Picnic.
Sandwiches, snacks, chips, paperplates, and everyone gets or brings their own drink.
I need commentary please.(Keep in mind alergies, nuts, Chocolate, etc)

~Age/Kid Requirements:
Ok I want this a Kid friendly event That means 16+ Please, or have your parent or guardian Bring you. That means tell them you want to go meet a group of Furs at the mall.
I will not be accountable for any children attending without a written consent form holding me unaccountable for any accidents or otherwise.
Now if your parents want to drop you off I am willing to take on Caregiver for the day. But I will have a Paper stating rules, and regulations while your with me. It will be signed by you and your parent, no excuses or otherwise.
Along with this I will have a allergies/medical/contact part to be filled out just in case.
Also I will be bringing my 23 month old son to this so he can have fun too.

Greenspoint is very unactive so dont suggest it please.

I'm also taking on helping to schedule people for Car pooling thru out Houston and or other areas.

Sounds interesting I wld be in dunno bout ride I live in the Washington county area so its a good drive to Houston i cannot provide gas money due to it going to bills but i can meet the person halfway

Saw this on Facebook but I gotta ask... Did you run any of this by the mall's themselves? I've heard too many times furs will meet up at the mall, but someone forgot to tell the mall about it.

They go in with heads on, security comes over immediately, removes from the mall.

I just didn't see that part on the posting.

I would refrain from suits only due to past issues unless you have Gotten permission from the mall its self. :) It sounds fun I will add the journal for ya hun...

So far all I've heard even with a phone call and meet setting. It wont be allowed at this mall mainly cause Its large and Expensive area.

Malls are fursuits are a definite no. There used to be an anime con, Kamikaze Con, at the mall RIGHT across from the Galleria, and they absolutely did not allow costumes of any kind. You definitely need to run this by someone before just organizing it and inviting people.

Please check with the security offices for those malls. I worked for them. They (while I was working for them) had a NO HEADS/SUITS rule VERY Strict. Only tails and paws allowed.

Do you have a lonestarfurs.org account? I would post on there about the meet since I know it's where i get my meet information. Other meet organizers could lend you advice and help to get it going too. And yeah, fursuits in such a public place is an issue, especially with stores.

As others have stated unless you go in before hand and present the idea of suiting it will not go through. Everyone suiting will be asked to leave on site 90% of the time so you're gonna have to reconsider that option unless you speak with personel.

Hello there. Yes, I would advise against Gunspoint unless we have a few CHLers. Personally, I would vote for Baybrook, but it seems most folks live on the north side of town... thusly... Galleria is probably more centrally located for everybody, not to mention it's huger'n all outside (while yet being inside, somehow). Just so damn expensive, nobody can afford anything in there, hehe.

I am no suiter myself, but a word to the wise; I don't know if suiting in a mall will be terribly liked and/or accepted. I know a suiter in WA who was doing suiting with a few folks around the Build-A-Bear store (fuzzy friend of theirs worked there, and the store itself was cool with it), but mall security had a real beef about people going about with faces/identities covered, so they had to settle for partial type attire (or least no head). It may not be an issue here, I don't know... but something to consider/think about. Doesn't mean it can't be a hangout, though. With hotter weather surely around the corner, an indoor option get-together isn't a bad plan.

LOVE IT! I'll see if I can talk my parents into letting me go... Thing is, considering how you said the thing about kid friendly and all... I'm 16... So, I dunno if the consent thing applies? And if I DO get permission to go, I'll take my boyfriend too! He's a cute husky! ^-^ Anyways, I would recommend somewhere like the Downtown Houston area, or Sugarland. Sugarland has an outdoor mall, which can be pretty fun to hang out in most of the time. But Downtown has that amazing awe-inspiring feel to it, so... If you need help organizing, contact me on my SoFurry account. Same as this one. I'm more frequent there. Thanks!
