First off, let me say THIS IS A SERIOUS JOURNAL and not a joke.

Whole Foods Market has decided to begin selling rabbit meat in their stores. They claim it's based on requests from customers. Rabbit lovers all around the US are united in protest of this decision, as you might well imagine. I just found out about this a few minutes ago, or I would have let people know long since.
There are peaceful demonstrations consisting of picketing and handing out leaflets against this decision being held all across the United States. Unfortunately the timing here is bad because it is tomorrow, August 17th, but it is happening all over the US and I'll give you a link to the page about it put up by The House Rabbit Society.

If you can make it to one of the scheduled protests, that would be fabulous! If not, please help spread the word about this heinous decision by Whole Foods to sell pets for food!! And be sure to check out the posters and leaflets that are being used by the groups even if you don't go.

Rabbits are eaten all over the world so I don't understand why this is really an issue
And if you want to eat other pets, I can see why you don't understand this as an issue. I bet you never do.
Rabbits are just common food for most of the world I dont see why it is such an issue in the US I could see people getting upset if it was a dog but its a rabbit out west it is common to hunt them as game animals
By your way of measuring what is an issue or not, since less than 15,000 people were murdered in 2012 according to FBI statistics, and US population was over 300 million, then murder isn't really an issue either. Do you see where I'm going with this?
I've signed a lot of petitions and shared a lot of news about this horrible topic. If Whole Foods was serving up puppy pie or kitten kabobs, there would be riots. Rabbits are the third most popular companion animal in this country and suffer the most unspeakable cruelties, in spite of their status as very common pets, due to them not having the same legal protections as cats or dogs. Know why they aren't protected? Because of assholes like the ones who support this sickening practice.
As the proud mom of ten rescued house rabbits, I say with uttermost emphasis that rabbits belong in the home, as members of the family, to be loved and respected.
Nothing deserves to live its life in a small wire box, not knowing the sun on its face. This is sickening and cruel.
And, fuck you, trolls. Go choke on a bag of dicks and die.
