Right now, I'm focusing mostly on artwork prizes, but story prizes might be interesting....
I think maybe a quick poll of people here to see if they'd like to see stories added as a prize would help. What do you think?

I'm not an artist myself, so I am unable to contribute artwork, but am more than willing to purchase some tickets to help out. I just have a lot of questions about how everything is being done. For instance:
- when will tickets go on sale and what are the details for buying them?
- with so many artists offering donations, how are these are these prizes distributed?
- what happens with the money donated? Does it all go to one individual in need, or does it get distributed to multiple people?
When running something like this, and wanting people to donate their own time and/or money, it is best to have the details laid out so that everyone understands exactly how it works and how their contribution is going to used to help these people in need.
Thanks for all of the effort you are putting into this endeavor and I hope to be able to help out when I can. I've already commissioned 2 of the artists featured on your lists of those in need, and I hope to contribute to the raffle. Even small contributions, when received from enough people, can make a huge difference.
Q. "When will tickets go on sale and what are the details for buying them?"
A. Tickets for this month's raffle will go on sale starting March 15th. We give the first of the month to rallying the raffle's donating artists, and then about halfway through, we start the raffle which lasts until the end of the month, or when tickets sell out. (Whichever comes first) Tickets are currently $2 a ticket, and you can purchase up to 4 tickets per raffle.
Q. "With so many artists offering donations, how are these prizes distributed?"
A. Different artists distribute in different ways. Some do prints by snail mail, while others will send a high quality digital file to the winner, and others will post the work on their FA page to give to the winner. It all depends on what the winner and the artist agree upon. So far, there have not been any issues as far as I have heard as far as the winner receiving their prizes.
Q. "What happens with the money donated? Does it all go to one individual in need, or does it get distributed to multiple people?"
A. All money donated by ticket purchases or general donations are given to the raffle recipients. This is only the 3rd raffle, and is on its way to being the most organized one so far. The first raffle was started by
The second raffle which ended last Saturday (February 28th, 2009) was the first to donate proceeds to multiple people. While it didn't sell out like the first one did, we still managed to raise $320.59 which we split evenly (as possible) to the four recipients.
For the third raffle, the recipients are going to be those on my EXTREME Risk and HIGH Risk Support Journals, which can be found here:

These are people whose financial situations I have been following and keeping track of for the past few months, so I know they definitely need the funds. With any luck, the success of the third raffle will help them greatly.

I still think you should create a single journal entry that explains all of the details about how the raffles work, as I'm sure others may have more questions about it as well, and it would probably be easier for you, if you only had to edit that single file as needed. :)
