April 2009 Raffle

Is everyone here ready to Raffle?! I know I am! Last time we raised a whopping $513.33!!! It was a bit shy of our $600 goal, but that's still nothing to sneeze at! That's a growth of nearly $200 since the February raffle! I want to thank everyone for participating because you all have been absolutely stellar.

And in case you missed them, here are the results from last month's raffle:

Now, it's that time to help our friends once again. This time we are aiming for $700.00 dollars or more. This will be split up into 7 shares and given to the furs in need here:

 AngelAito - Accepting Commissions - http://www.furaffinity.net/user/angelaito/ [A fur whose life with their boyfriend is in big trouble with no sources of income for anything. Nothing for rent, nothing for bills, not even anything for food. To help keep them afloat until any aid kicks in or a new job is found, they are taking as many commissions as possible.]

 AQB52 - Accepting Commissions - http://www.furaffinity.net/user/aqb52 [A furry comic artist and writer for a good 2 decades, he has recently been hit with hard times, especially with the death of his mother. Now, with comics his only source of income, he is looking for new work and aid while working on a thin budget. Has gone so far as to buy food for his cat, but not himself.]

 juindalo - Accepting Commissions -

 nateday - Accepting Commissions - http://www.furaffinity.net/user/nateday/ [A fur in great need down in the Alabama / Louisiana area. After suffering from a crippling injury, he applied for SSI (Supplemental Security Income) and was denied SSD (social security disability). He is in the process of appealing this decision, and is very furious with the way the state government is treating him. However, he is in the appeals process and hopes things work out okay, but in the meantime he has no income. Commissions and donations will help him survive.]

 rob_panda - Accepting Commissions - http://www.furaffinity.net/user/robpanda/ [A fur who has been out of work since 2007, Rob now has a bank account of negative 30 dollars and a total debt of a good $30,000. He is getting food and gas money from his grandma, but doesn't want to have to rely on her constantly for money. Is still looking for work and aid.]

 shinjiskunk - Accepting Commissions -

 Silnat - Accepting Commissions - http://www.furaffinity.net/user/silnat/ [A wife and mother living in Uruguay, Silnat lives in a home with her mother, her husband, and son. She is unemployed, her husband is disabled due to an injury (herniated disk) he is still recovering from, and her mother requires medication. With very little income from her husband's disability benefits, every little bit counts to help her, her husband, and son get financially stable and get a new, and larger, home.

Nothing makes me and the Movement happier than seeing furs from FA succeed, and I have to say that seeing how we were able to help the furs from last month out, I want to see that same kind of action this month too!

Rules to Buying a Raffle Ticket

First off, you must add your FA username into the comments area of your Paypal transfer!!! Failure to do such will result in a refund! (minus the fee of course).

Each ticket will cost $2.00 USD, and you can buy up to 10 tickets!

Unfortunately, I am still working out the issues with PayPal to ensure that I can continue working with them for our fundraisers. They have very particular rules against raffles and when dealing with Non-Profit Organizations. Ideally, I would like to register the ADLM as a full-fledged NPO, but the filing fees for it are in the hundreds of dollars range, and I have nowhere near that kind of money.

The current PayPal restrictions keep me from closing the PayPal account (which is fine since I don't want to!), make certain account changes, but worst of all I can not SEND or transfer funds until this is cleared up. However, the account is still capable of receiving funds.

PayPal is eager to cooperate and has expressed a willingness to let me continue operations here to help those in need. I should have everything cleared up by Tuesday, April 21, 2009, which is what the PayPal rep on the phone told me. Once everything's settled, I can post the e-mail address for the PayPal account here again.

Until then, if you wish to purchase tickets, PM me or comment and I will PM you the e-mail address in private so you can make your contribution to the fundraiser. Okay?


We will be taking donations! They are a huge help to pay off the fees from the transfers, so please, if you have any other funds you would like to donate, feel free to do so. :)

Contributing artists are not allowed to purchase tickets at this time. We're sorry about that, but it's to allow non-donating members to get first shot at the tickets. This will ALL change on April 24th, 2009 when tickets will be available for purchase to all of this month's prize donors.
