STOLEN FURSUIT
Last night I attended a party at a friend's house and I kept my fursuit in the trunk of my car. What a dumb mistake. I woke up in the early hours of Sunday to find my trunk open and fursuit gone. He will be missed greatly. If anyone sees him being worn or discarded in the university Avenue area of San Diego let me know please.
I apologize to my suit maker
keryu for letting something like this happen to what her team spent countless hours creating.

Here's a signal boost, I hope it helps you find your suit!

I also made a journal post linking back here and to your picture to help.
I'll be keeping an eye out on some websites for anyone posting him for sale. And I'll be sure to notify you right away if anything shows up!
I can't believe it. I mean.. LOL?
I'm sorry that this happened to you, however. It is terrible if something so personal gets stolen by freaks.
I wonder if whomever did it just grabbed the box and ran, or if the *knew* it was your Fursuit?
The *second* anyone tries to wear it, discard it or sell it, they'll be up Shit Creek.
More evil as stealing a gameing laptop from a pro gamer.
hope your able to find it.

Hope it gets found soon :C
Here's hoping it's found safe and soon

Searched under furry terms (fursuit, fullsuit, ex.) and any other possible term related to costumes as I could come up with in case this asshole isn't a furry.
I haven't found anything yet so far... I'll continue to keep an eye out online and at future cons I attend in the US if it's still missing by then.
Property value felonies. Any time someone commits a theft, that person deprives someone else of property. The stolen property's value is often what determines if the crime is a felony or misdemeanor. In order to be a felony theft, the value of the property must exceed a minimum amount established by state law, typically between $500 and $1,000. For example, if a state has a $600 felony theft limit, a person who steals a bicycle worth $400 has committed a misdemeanor. If another person in the same state steals a bicycle worth $700, the crime is a felony.
Felony degrees. In addition to differentiating between misdemeanor and felony theft, states also differentiate between different degrees of felony theft. For example, a state may have five different levels of felony theft offenses, ranging from one to five, with 1st degree being the least serious and 5th degree being the most serious. A 1st degree felony theft may apply to the thefts were the property is between $1,000 and $5,000, while 5th degree felony theft might apply to a crime where the value is over $100,000. Also, states may punish categorical felonies as a specific degree felony. So, for example, all automobile thefts may be punished as a 3rd degree felony regardless of the value of the car.
Under Section 487 of the California Penal Code, grand theft is an unlawful taking in any of the following, with the intent to steal: Money, labor, or property with a value of over $950. Farm products including domestic fowl and crops with a value of over $250.
Also did you check to see if your car was broken into, or if someone took your keys to take your suit, it could mean that someone at the party took it.
Lets be honest, you didn't lock your car right?
I have had my truck broken into one night, who ever it was toss everything into my flatbed, looked through the glove box, but never stole anything, not even my coins that had n the cup holder. My paper work was still there. Heck, i've had a homeless guy sleep n my tuck before as i forgot to lock it one night.
I would file a insurance claim with your auto policy and get that rolling.
Once i mailed a plush horse to a friend and they were not home and the package was stolen. I was upset but the joke is on the thief as that plush horse had some modifications done to it.
I honesty think it was someone there at the party as a normal thief would want to know what he is taking and not see that he snag a mascot suit worth nothing to him or her and not able to sell for drugs.
Oh and contacting the police will give you access to search warrants so if you do suspect someone you can legally search them or their home for your stolen property.
I checked both ebay and furbuy, and whoever took it has not put it up for sale on either of those sites.
I can signalboost it on tumblr and in my journal if you want.
I really hope your suit will return home safely!
But something seems off here: how did said thief even KNOW your suit was in there? Maybe you were just a victim of random chance and they know a thing or two about suits; for that I'd check ebay and the like. But let's say you weren't; I'm not saying don't trust your friends, but keep an eye on those who KNOW you are furry and even has a suit to begin with. They seem like likely candidates if this was targeting you in particular.
I know my advice sounds bland considering I am some random dude passing by but I still wish the best of luck to you in its retrieval.
I hope you find him!
