Hey all,

So, I missed my second car payment in a row due to unemployment. I expected I'd have the "10 day" late period they list on the payment slip, but I suspect with my credit, there weren't any chances being taken.

The irony is, this was my first week of work at my new job, and I was planning on making a payment before that deadline. Now I'm kind of stuck. I can get my car back if I make an ~$600 payment back to the creditor company, but it has to be done before the car goes to auction, which could be any time this month. I was able to pay $200 of this out of the cash I was going to spend on rent, but I'm going to have trouble coming up with the full remaining amount.

My roommate has graciously offered to lend me his car the rest of the week so I can go to work, but he can't do that forever, and I don't know how long I have before my car goes to auction. So I'm asking for help trying to meet the rest of the $400. I will pay back any and all generous donations (plus interest if need be), but it probably won't be for a month or two while I get my feet back. (Want to be up front about this so that there's no confusion.)

I really don't like asking for help, since I do pride myself on being self-sufficient, but a couple friends have encouraged me to admit there's no shame in asking when it's really needed. Every little bit helps, so thanks for your consideration.
