A small group of Cree Nation people have found out about Cree and Poundmaker's inclusion in the Civilization VI expansion pack and are going to have talks with 2K+Firaxis about potential removal or modification to the Civ and Leader, despite Poundmaker's descendants knowing and approving their inclusion. The group believe Poundmaker's inclusion is harmful as it is treated like any other European Colonialists leader but could also see positive aspects such as making Poundmaker and the Cree peoples more known to people (especially to those outside North America, like my self, who would of never known about the Cree or Poundmaker without them being included in Civ).

One of the aims of this group is to have Poundmaker pardoned for him falsely being accused of treason and placed into prison causing him to die of ill health shortly after. So the Civilization community agree that, to help sign a petition for the Canadian Prime Minister to pardon Poundmaker in hopes to show the Cree peoples that Poundmaker's inclusion in Civ is greatly positive!
