This is horrible. I hope the cat isn't hurt too badly.

Where would anyone even get the idea to shoot a cat in the first place?! These kinds of people are the reason I'm always losing a bit of faith in humanity.

Even rabid animals aren't shot and I doubt the cat was rabid. I mean seriously, come on!

They are usually younger boys, up into their teenaged years. Often, they are shot with pellets from an airgun. My Mom's beautiful cat Nicky was shot a few times in one incident. I forget how many pellets they removed from her, but I know they couldn't get one out.
Whomever did it should be thankful my step-father didn't find out who they were, he had access to a backhoe and a LOT of acreage.
Nicky lived to be 23 years old, however. She was such a loving cat.

I think I have some .303 Sabot rounds loaded 3700fps and they don't leave rifling you know incase they need a bullet to the knee.

That is just sick, to shoot a cat. If only I could call upon one of the bigger cat cousins to teach the culprit a lesson. I will send my prayers that the cat has a good recovery.

At some point you have to wonder why they didn't just get pet insurance. As pricey as the premiums can be, a $2,000+ vet bill uninsured is vastly higher.

As a hunter in the USA I myself would never shoot a cat, but sadly I can see what kind of person would. Careless killers/backyard hunters (usually adolescent kids with a B.B. guns). This is a result of irresponsible parents that do not teach there child the fundamentals of actual hunting and killing only what you are willing to eat or killing pests that are dangerous to the local fauna (sometimes even dangerous to humans).

All that aside it’s an undisaplined youth that shoots any animal out of a sense of thinking they re actually hunting or are addicted to the sight of taking animal lives. It’s not a pleasant thought process but it’s out there weather we like it or not.

I must say that I sort of understand the situation. Doesn't mean it's right to do this, but I can understand how mad the person must have been.

I used to get a couple of cats around my place before I moved. They would meet right outside my dwelling at 2 am and yowl as loud as they could. It drove me nuts. I didn't shoot them (with an airgun), though I was very tempted. You don't have be sick, just uncaring enough.
