Figured i'd give some basic details about my custom species, the Zerda! These are a space baring alien animal that are pretty similar to dogs and cats, almost a mix between them. They are as varied as you can imagine them, and some species are as small as a house cat... and some like the AuraZerda wander the emptier parts of the stars, growing to the size of a small star eventually.

Some of the major points to remember
Each Zerda has a flower that grows on its tail, containing a bulb within it. This bulb is essentially like a Zerda's heart... sould it be damaged, it could outright kill the Zerda. The flower, and its fruit, usually grow to match those within the environment it was born into and can be almost anything. The fruit is an extreme narcoleptic, causing essentially a medically induce coma. This can last for days and can cause minor cases of bioluminescense within the stomach.

Physical details change drastically from subspecies to subspecies, but for the most part a few things remain the same. Zerda grow natural gemstones within their bodies, usually highly coveted for their perfect clarity. These are like bones to them and can cause severe injury if removed. Usually only a dead Zerda will part with its gems. These can show up in the head, the limbs, sometimes the main body, and usually along a males penis.

Current species of Zerda me and my fiance have cataloged:
Aurazerda- Large, space wandering subspecies, The largest of the species, they can grow to around the size of our own sun. Like a sloth, they are slow moving, conserving energy on their long dormant drifts through space. Very few have seen these rare species. Cults and religions have been seen to form on planets that come close enough to see the Zerda from their planet.

Aquazerda- These are an ocean bearing species. only able to thrive on planets with large, open oceans. They gain many traits similar to their deep sea counterparts, causing variants even within this subspecies. Known to grow to amazing sizes, some have been documented as being larger than earth whales. Sea travel is risky around their waters, but not for fear of attack. Playful like a kitten, they tend to see boats as toys, upending and destroying most sea vessels as they play with them.

Phosphozerda- One of the more tame mutations, Phosphozerda have adapted to life within caves. Their luminescence and aditional pair of eyes assisting with life without sunlight. Their sizes tend to be anywhere between a horse and a hippo, and vary based on the cave in which they live. Patterns upon these zerda can be hypnotic almost.

Sonazerda- Another of the cave dwelling zerda, these have adapted to life in the dark by adopting traits similar to earth bats. Poor eyesight is the trade off for their enhanced hearing and precise echolocation. Wings that have replaced their front legs help them move about and give them greater mobility as they flit about their caves. One would expect them to be on the smaller side, but full grown Sonazerda reach the size of Pterodactyl.

Florazerda- One of the most exotic Zerda, this subspecies has adapted to existance much different than its carnivorous cousins. Their make up is very similar to plants, even containing chlorophyll in its leaf like "fur". fruit production by this subspecies is much greater than others, and can sometimes even be edible depending on the size of the fruit grown.Even smaller fruit retains the powerful narcotic effect though, and is usually used as a strong anesthetic to assist in medicine. Due to their reliance on photosynthesis instead of hunting and eating, Florazerda are an extremely nocturnal species. During the day they spend their time in the sun, soaking up energy, only moving and about during the night when they can't gain energy. It would not be uncommon to see a field of sleeping Florazerda in a community harvesting them for their fruit

Nurozerda- The smallest species of Zerda, Nurozerda are even smaller than a typical housecat. Widely bred and used as household pets, they are sometimes a symbol of status. A more reserved coloring and lifestyle had led them to be born domesticated, imprinting on the lucky new owner. These adorable little zerda have the most in common with earth pets, their tail being the only thing that would set them apart

There are MANY more species of Zerda out there and these are the main ones me and my Fiance have catalogged. We are also usually open to ideas, but theres no guarantee they will be implemented. I will try to update with more Journals about the Zerda as questions come in or more information is added.
