I commissioned
for this badge not too long ago. We originally discussed it at a local furmeet and then continued discussion via email.
Last night when I couldn't sleep I found it finished in my email and uploaded here. :)
I love this badge to bits.

I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2007, it destroyed my neck and had spread to my lungs before they found it.
I had my neck cut open and everything removed, after the surgery they had stapled my neck shut while it healed (it looked like a freakin zipper haha).
When they went to remove the staples I asked the doctor if my neck was going to split open and all my neck guys would come falling out.
I mentioned that conversation on LJ and it ended as us joking about my neck being a mouth and going to eat people. A friend made an icon with my neck smiling and thus Happy Neck the neck monster was born.
The green skin of my fursona comes from the radiation therapy and me joking I'm a mutant now cause I carry a card for 6 months after treatments giving me permission to be radioactive and setting off airport geiger counters.
The scar on my fursona's neck is of course based off my actual sscar. You can see it going up the side of my neck in most my photos of myself. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4999885/ It goes all the way around the front of my neck and up the other side as well. My neck always smiles.
