He couldn't believe what he saw. The young healthy kid that he used to play with when he to was only a cub, was now an adult and looking very weak and barley alive.
Putting his ear near her chest area he could hear she still had a pulse (if only a very weak one), and he knew that he needed to take her somewhere safe where there was shadow and water for her.
As he carried the heavy body of Nala on his back to his friends, he couldn't help but notice how similar this was to when he first came here as well. He too had been a very out dried and passed out creature, who only must have had the most horrible reasons to why it would want to wander so far out into the deadly desert terrain. "Given what I wanted to run away from I can only imagine what poor Nala must have eperienced back at Pride Rock." Simba thought as he took her back to Timon and Pumbaa.
As he reunited with his friends an argument between him and Timon started up, pretty similar to the one Timon and Pumbaa had been having ones Simba was the one to be found in the desert.
"Another Lion!?"
"Please Timon! She's a childhood friend of mine, and she needs our help."
"How do we know that she won't eat me and Pumbaa once she gets better?"
"You just have to trust that she will trust me when I tell her to."
"And if she don't?"
"Then...I will sit on her, and not get off until she either promise me to behave or says that she leaves."
Timon was about to say something back, but he hesitated. The image of Simba sitting on top of that other lioness was a pretty interesting picture, and looking at the size of Simba's butt Timon could agree that not many creatures would enjoy getting sat upon by that.
"Fine, but you make sure she's not dangerous." Timon finally said to him.
"I promise to not let anything happen to you guys." Simba said, and he and Timon did a hand shake on that.
Just at that moment all three of them heard a weak voice starting to crack and cough a little, taking all of their attention. It was Nala starting to wake up, her throat still being very dry from the desert walk.
Simba was quick to move over and see how she felt. Being still bit weak she couldn't see him properly, (only seeing his face and his thick mane) and didn't know just how incredible fat he was.
"S-Simba?" She asked, thinking she might only be dreaming.
"Yes Nala, it's me." He answered, feeling calm over seeing her being well. (If a bit tired.)
"Simba, I got something important to tell you!" Nala said, trying to get up but felt she wasn't strong enough to do that yet and therefore fell down onto the ground.
"Take it easy Nala. You need to rest first before you try standing up." Simba said, putting one of his big warm arms over Nala's body to comfort her.
Even thought Nala knew that what she needed to say was really important, she felt Simba's paw on top her as really relaxing and comforting. It made her feel that it could wait until she was feeling stronger.
"Listen, Nala. Pumbaa here will take care of you, while Timon and I go away to find some food for you." Simba said, before he and Timon leaved the half sleeping lioness with the warthog.
As they walked away to collect enough bugs to feed a full grown lioness, Nala started to get a little bit better herself. The shadows and water was making miracles to the dry and warm lion body, and she was already starting to get much more "alive" now. Opening her eyes she saw the warthog still being there, nursing her. At first her animal instincts where about to make her decision and attack him, but then she remember Simba telling her about him.
Pumbaa himself had only noticed the lioness looking like she was going to eat him, and was about to run away when she said "Stop! Wait!" This made him stop for a moment. "Your name is Pumbaa, right?" She asked him, who a bit scared just replied with a careful nod.
"Oh! I'm so sorry! I remember Simba telling to me while I was weak that he had a warthog for a friend named Pumbaa, that I was suppose to NOT eat if I saw him." Nala explained, seeing that it made the warthog some what more calmer about the situation.
"Good thing Simba did tell you that then. He, he." Pumbaa said, laughing a bit nervously.
"Yeah. Had he not I might have bitten you in the neck, cut open your stomach, and..." Nala said (while starting to drool a little), before slapping herself in the face with her paw to make her stop thinking about her friend like food.
Seeing Pumbaa being back at scared for her Nala felt guilty again. "Sorry, I'm just so hungry!" She said to him, who replied that Simba was out getting food and should be back soon.
At that very moment they both heard the sound of Simba and Timon coming back from behind Nala. So she turned around to see it, and got a look of pure shock all over her face over seeing Simba in his new size.
Last time she saw him he was a very pudgy and doughy lion cub, and while he had been fat back then she thought that it was just a "phase" for him and he would be more "normal" as an adult. Seeing him just as fat (if not even fatter) came of as a very big surprise.
His big stomach, thick legs, and blubbery butt was only some of the things making Nala stare completely dumbfounded at him. It was almost like he was a part of some kind of dream she had been having. A dream where he looked like the biggest and strongest leader imaginable, and still having his overweight. (Almost like the perfect husband for her.) And here he stood now in front of her in real life.
"Uhm, Nala? You're drooling." Simba told her, making her realize she was doing it once again.
"I'm sorry for that but, what has happen to you?!" Nala asked, getting out of her dream state. "You disappeared from Pride Rock a long time ago, and I and everyone else thought you where dead. But here you are alive and...at good health." She said, trying to not say anything wrong about his extra weight. "This is wonderful, with you still alive you can come back with me and take over the role as king."
"Wait! Stop! Time out!" Timon said, getting in-between the two lions before turning over to Simba. "You are a King?!" He asked, generally upset over his friend not telling him and Pumbaa this before.
"What? No, of course not. I don't know where she got that from." Simba lied, trying to play it all of as a joke.
"What are you talking about Simba? Of course you are the king! After the death of Mufasa you are the next one in the line of getting the throne." Nala said, irritated over Simba making it hard for her to tell the news.
"Anyway, why did you wander all alone in the dessert?" Simba asked Nala, in a pretty obvious attempt to change the subject.
Not liking it Nala decided to play along with Simba and answered, "I decided to run of after everything went bad when Scar took over power."
"Scar!?" Simba said shocked. He could feel himself starting to get really sweaty now, and not only from the heat and his added weight, but also in how nervous he was over the situation.
"Someone you know?" Timon asked, already knowing the answer to his question.
"No, I mean...He's my uncle, but he was always so nice to me. He would never..." Simba said confused, before Nala cut him off.
"Ever since he got to be in charge everything has gone to ruins. No rain, almost no food, hyenas looking over lions. It's all madness and they need a real leader to fix it all! Someone like you Simba." Nala said.
All of this became to much for Simba to comprehend, and he decided to run away from his friends. (His fat body being surprisingly helpful with that.)
At first Nala was pretty fascinated over seeing such a huge lion body move like Simba's did when he decided to run, but she quickly came back to her senses and started chasing after him.
He was the rightful one to inherit the throne, so why didn't he want to do it?
At first Simba run as fast as he could, (trying to get away from everything that had been brought back from old memories) but his bulked up body soon made sure to remind him that he wasn't built for fast runs (or running in general) anymore. After only a whole minute of constant running Simba had a complete lack of air in his lungs, and had to stop to fill up again.
That was when Nala appeared behind him, having no real problems catching up to her plumper friend. She had to make a sudden stop to prevent herself from running face first into Simba's rear end, (Simba had stopped running after rounding a big thick tree, and as Nala made it around as well she only had a second to react to it.) but a small part inside of her actually was a bit mad over not continue running and pressing her face deep into his big soft butt of Simba.
Remembering what she was chasing him for in the first place Nala got straight to the point with him.
"Why did you run off?" She asked him.
"I just got to much in my head at the same time." Simba said, after finishing breathing heavily.
"Sorry for doing that to you, but things are at a serious state right now." Nala said, sounding more concern this time.
Simba really wanted to talk more about it, but more when it was just him and Nala. Timon and Pumbaa would soon also be here, and by then he would like it to be something completely different to talk about.
"Listen Nala. We can talk about this." He said, as he started to hear his two friends coming closer.
"We can?" Nala ask, happy over Simba sounding to finally be on her side now.
"But can it wait just a little while longer?" He then added, making his female friend both disappointed and confused.
"Why later? Why not now?" She asked.
"Because...you might need to eat something first." Simba said after some thoughts.
Nala was just about to say that she wasn't hungry, but that's when her stomach took and made sure to say it's option.
GROWL!!!!
It sounded almost like something that could have come out of her mouth.
Nala didn't like to admit it, but she was actually starving at the moment. "I might be in need of a piece of food first." She said.
Right then Simba could see his two comrades catch up to them, and he made sure to make them only hear about them talking about food.
"That's great Nala! My friends and I was just about to have a great big bug buffet right now." Simba said, and gave a nod to his two buddies as to tell them to prepare the feast.
"Excuse me for one moment, but did you say bugs?" Nala asked, wondering if she had misheard him.
"No you didn't. Timon, Pumbaa and I have been having bugs as our regular meals ever since I got here, and it hasn't had any special effect on me." Simba said, while patting on of his paws on his huge belly. (Even though that it might contradict what he just said to Nala.)
Still Nala decided to take Simba's word and have dinner with them. "I just hope I don't end up as huge as him." She thought to herself.
As they ate Simba looked over at Nala (Who after only a few test chew, had now started to really chow down on the small insects.) and started to feel something inside of him. It was that same warm feeling he had felt for Nala when they both where kids, but now when they where adults this feeling just felt even stronger now.
Nala herself could also feel the same things as Simba, but since she already had been interested in him as a cub her feelings where even stronger then his. She had always love how chubby he was as a kid, and seeing him even fatter as an adult was like a dream come true to her. She just wished she could tell him just how she felt for him.
After they where finished Nala needed to go away and drink some water from the pond, and Simba saw this as a chance to get some "alone" time with her and followed.
(The following is a parody of "Can you feel the love tonight" with changed lyrics)
Simba: "So long time since I saw her.
But what will you look at that?
Would she want to have me? No way!
She's fit and I am fat.
Nala: He's still just like I know him.
I can see it in his eyes.
But can he be the king, I wonder?
A king that is his size?
Chorus: Can you feel the fat tonight?
The warming feelings within?
The love tonight, in perfect harmony.
The fat and the thin.
Can you feel the fat tonight?
The whole universe at peace?
The love between two strong individuals.
On healthy and one Obese.
During the song Simba and Nala does the same things like in the movie (Pulling each other into the pond, playing in the grass, rolling down the hill and all that.), but since Simba is a bit larger then he is there things are a bit different.
Instead of getting Nala wet by dragging her into the water with him, she gets wet already when Simba tosses himself into it. (Because he created a HUGE cannonball with his body.)
Later on when they run around playing Simba has some troubles catching up to Nala, given his lack of actual condition in his body.
And when they roll down the hill together and Simba ends up on top of Nala, she almost gets flatted by her much heavier partner. (Simba quickly lifts up his body a little to see if she's okay, only to be greeted by Nala's face looking like she really enjoyed it.)
The finish the evening by rub head each other, finally declaring their love for each other.
