1. why not fly over, they has wings?
2. Cynder should be able to blow it all away, she has a wind element.
3. Volteer.. he always talked in the ANB, what happened?, he only got one line in DoTD "hold on, I'll get you out of there." XD;
4. Invisible walls, almost evey game has them.
5. Cynder is the only sexy chick in the game, and everybody loves her body :> she's upset.(even though there was one other female, even though she was a dragonfly in ANB (spyro,sparx mom), but wasn't as important in the game. showed for like ten minutes or so)
6. Do this and watch what happens, Use Cynder's shadow element and dig under the gate!!DO NOT HIT THE SWITCH WITHIN THE GATE!!, then switch over to Spyro and leave Cynder.. (she pulls out a magic trick) Spyro she's set for life to live and die with you for sure. XDDD;

Heh. It all true. Except I never tried the last one. The flying thing in the game was useless in my oponion. Of course, it was fun, but it didn't make sence that you couldn't fly where you wanted in the game. Volteer was great in ANB. His never shutting mouth was hilerous. I especially loved the scene: "And before the vulcano... BOOM!" Invisible walls is in pretty much every game, but that panel was still funny. And in my oponion, Sparx' parents should make more apperance. I mean, they where our main characters adopted parents, after all.
pretty much, turned company's, at first it was Krome, then it got transferred over to sierra, :P
If I made this game, I think it would have turned out a bit better lol I dunno XD;; it feels that it needs better actors (Christina Ricci that plays Cynder) and more scenes and extra levels.

The first panel made me lol, the second panel was right on the money ^-V-^. The Third Panel me me rofl, The fourth panel was a repeat of first panel. The fifth panel made me roflol. The sixth panel was a stated fact, and made me repeat fourth panel. Last panel combined the other panels plus piss myself.
And that sums up this adventure ^-V-^

heheh, All I can say is, I think you're more than a little hooked on the spyro games: For one, without knowing the Acronyms, I have no idea what the games are that you are talking about (for the comparison aspects).
That, and alot of the oddities strike me as necessary or obvious. I agree that I'm a bit confused on why a short wall is an impairment to an experienced flyer;)
Invisible walls. ugh. Don't get me started there. pretty much all 3D games will have them for stability: you go to far outside the level/world/etc. the game goes WTF when you hit some milemarker that isn't technically in existance in that universe. Flying games are notorious for this: the greater your range of exploration, the more likely you'll come to a place the designers didn't expect. Soooo, stuffing you in an invisible box is the easy way to go there making sure everything in that box is "safe".
The magic teleportation is an easy explanation: its there for emergencies in case your partner gets its stupid self stuck while in AI mode. Try playing an oooold game like say, secret of mana, where the AI partners got stuck often, didn't teleport, and worst of all, you cant leave them behind: if you somehow wedge them somewhere, its possible you'll get stuck youtself once the slack on your invisible tether runs out. In the end.
In the end, I suppose it boils down to: What do you want, realistic or fun?
Please pardon the long comment... Its a personality trait, possibly a flaw. That, and I'm a sucker for video game design.

I must look pretty pathetic replying to a comment made 9 months ago.
But the magic teleportation thing isn't really necessary as there is always a switch behind the gate with which you can open it.
Not to mention the fact that you can switch between the two dragons at will when playing alone.
And even if you didn't have the ability to switch between them.
The shackles that hold the two dragons together wouldn't be a problem because even if you would end up with the dragon outside the gate, the is always in the range of the shackles.
And yeah.
About the invisible wall thing.
I hate it when developers do that.
I'd rather have them disguise that with an object instead of an invisible wall.
