One of four reference sheets I commissioned from the spiffy
nishi
The main Yoshi Station man, Tek Station himself.
...myself.
...whatever.
Slight updated look with the goggle style and work gloves. Hey, I originally could only do so much with pixels with his first design concept, you know? XP
And there you have it.

For one, yoshies are supposed to be as tall or taller than humans. It's not so much seen in game graphics due to size limitations of 16-bit systems as well as keeping things close in moderation in games like Mario party (Donkey Kong isn't supposed to be the same size as Mario, right?), but it's easier to see in game art. And Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door, one scene in the train where there's a full grown yoshi guest that's a head taller than Mario, where Mario is short for a human, but not THAT short.
And two, that's how tall -I- am :P
In any case, I recognize that Tek is tall for a yoshi, seeing he's looking over most peoples' heads in my doodled lineup of other characters XP
