I like the style they did the character in, but I'm not so smitten with the background since it looks like a highly edited image that's not stock :V But that's just the artist in me talking.

*shrug* That's because I used a brush and edited it and colored it to make it look more stylize. I wasn't paid to do a background, so I threw one together the best I could that was appropriate to the character.

Looking back on it. Isn't that 'The Great Wave off Kanagawa'?

I have no idea. I downloaded the brush for that wave on DA many years ago. I don't know if it was ripped from something or not. The background in it's entirety is not one image. The wave's shape was a brush that I put filters on to give it a kind of stylized look then added different colors to it. So, the only thing that is not really mine in the background is the initial wave brush and a bit of texturing.
