BOOYA! First epic-scale colored project of the year, done! And yes, it's an epic 
PokeCombatAcademy project...and yes it's technically either very late or very early (for Chinese New Year) :P
Inspired by a couple of doodles I did during New Years, I went and expanded the concept of "PCA pair having a good time (more or less) at a formal party" and expanded it to include a slightly bigger group than intended, plus a cute female Rattata hostess to represent 2008). It was also a nice idea on how to give tribute gift art to some folks I've been wanting to have an excuse to draw...and/or dress nicely.

Love this! I absolutely LOVE this! Your chars all look as awesome as they always do! Love Weaver and Ishtar. Hee.
And the other couples look so interesting that I'm probably going to look them up as well. Whose that couple on the left, third from the top? With the sandshrew?
And thank you SO much for drawing Rene and Nicole. They both clean up nicely--despite neither one of them being that fond of formal wear. Nicole I don't think likes dresses and girly stuff and Rene...well you know.

oh... almost forgot. *obligatory glomps* I really do love the way you drew Jen and Kody. Though, the only thing I have to say is that Kody has brown eyes, not blue, though she definatly looks with blue eyes. As for what they're talking about...there are so many discussions there all ending with Jen coyly suggesting leaving the party and spending quality time in her bed together.

Oh snap, a fabulous new look! Every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp-dressed tapir! And I'm diggin the 'traditional' style frock on Ishtar there...Weaver might get Double-Slapped, I think, if all this weren't business as usual by now. ;D
Words can't express how fantastic this is. Kompy busts out another sweet production number! I did recognize very nearly everyone (I think the Banette-Cubone pair were the only ones that stumped me, but I'm educated now). Also interested in finding out more about the cute little ratty. :>

Ha haw, I didn't screw up! (I actually did worry you'd Double-Slap me for Ishtar's threads at one point >_>;)
I had fun with this overall. A few of these I hadn't even known about until I shouted out for help for couple/dance partners (yes, some of these are purely platonic!) on a journal not long ago. Plus it felt nice trying to draw some of these in my own style while at least trying to keep the spirit of character in each one. Hard to do, but worth it :) )
And that poor Rattata doesn't even have a name, a shame as she's definitely charismatic enough to ponder over a bit more character-wise.

Definitely. There are some crowd scenes coming up in my stories and there's really no reason to throw in faceless 'mon, what with the cast of thousands established at the PCA. So there's plenty of room for walk-ons!

As for Vosa and Meg...well, you know, kids like their privacy. It's the first time either of them even have dates, so they want to see if they can make this work as well as possible. (there's still the worry about their families not liking the idea of how, ah, incompatible they are on the elemental level, but no one said love would be easy after all :P )

Lesse, the original sketches that inspired these (well only three of the originals - the Rattata, the Vosa/Meg one that inspired it all and the, well, "mean" one were pencil scans, the others are digital) were done on New Years proper... So, less than a week?
