Writing Commissions 2014Hello!
I'm a professional technical writer, published author, and do textual content creation for websites, search engine optimization, and media presentations.
Most of my skills are in the professional writing fields, but I do enjoy writing creative, anthropomorphic fiction.
There's three fields within fiction that I specialize in, and offer commission for:
1. Bleeding-edge science fiction. Emphasis on the science. I research extensively for both my professional and personal writing, and consequently am focused on providing accurate, realistic, and believable portrayals of science within science fiction, and if you're itching to explore something dark, gritty, and real within the realm of anthropomorphic science fiction, I'd be happy to help. Look for Voice's "Abandoned Places" anthology, and my story "Prospero", for an example of my published work in this genre.
2. Historical fiction. As above, I research extensively in my writing, and try to render stories set in the past as accurately and diligently as possible while still conveying an exciting, emotionally moving plot. If you have an idea for an exploration of anthropomorphic concepts set in historical motifs, and have an eye for detail, I'm at your service.
3. BDSM-focused erotic fiction. I bring extensive real-world experience to this topic, with nearing a decade of active, community-involved kink experience. I don't have to rely on imagination to communicate what a flogger feels or sounds like, or the darkness of a hood, or the emotional thrills of connection that come with the exchange of trust and vulnerability.

What I will need from you:
1. No attempt to negotiate my rates downwards. You're paying less than 25% of my professional rate, which is my day job. My costs are fair, and the value you will receive for your hard-earned money will be exceptional.
2. A prospectus; a short, one-to-three paragraph description of the theme of the story and the general plot. This should focus not on the characters, but on the events and themes of the story. Tell me what you want the reader to feel, and what ideas you would like the story to present.
If you require assistance in developing a prospectus, I will happily provide it at my standard Research rate.
3. A character reference: A picture's worth a thousand words, but don't be afraid to splash a couple hundred more down on a page to give me a view into the heart of the characters. Explain to me what you want to convey about the character to readers; explain what motivations and values your characters possess. What do they care about? Why do they care about it? This document should, again, be about three solid paragraphs.
If you're require assistance in developing these characters to suit the story, I can assist at my standard Research rate.
4. An estimate for length of story, anywhere from 300 words to 300 pages.
5. An initial deposit of 30$ CAD.

What your first 30$ gets from me:
3 hours of research based on the themes and topics you would like included, including consulting time and discussions.
My available hours for live conference calls/Skype is 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. (UTC -7). I will work with you to find suitable hours to converse. If you prefer to discuss in writing, I will converse via email. Main talking points of voice conversations will be forwarded for your approval via email as well.
A prospectus of a story, which will include a thorough outline of the plot and a point-form summary of the story to be written, which will be open to revision and discussion. The prospectus will include an estimate word count.

If you approve the prospectus, a writing contract will be presented for your approval. Within which, you agree to pay 50% of the estimated word count cost up front, with 25% due upon first draft and the final 25% due upon second draft.

The contract phases:
The First Draft Phase:
I will execute a first draft based upon the agreed prospectus. I may contact you to consult with you concerning finer points of the story along the way. If I do so, you will not be invoiced additional cost for this time.
If you wish to supervise or discuss elements of the story on your own initiative, I will bill time according to my Research cost. (10$ CAD an hour.) 48 hours notice appreciated on meetings and discussions. I am at your service and I will provide my time at a fair rate, and make good use of it with you.
I will provide up to 2 hours of revision without cost to you, after a finalized First Draft is presented and deposit is made for the Second Draft phase.
The Second Draft Phase:
I will revise and redraft the story according to your revision directions. Supervision and discussion subject to the same billing as above.
I will, after receiving final payment for Second Draft, provide 1 additional hour of revision without charge, if necessary. Subsequent time will be subject to invoicing as per my Research Rate.

Pricing is based upon licensing purposes:
Research Rate: 10$ / hour.
Non-exclusive Private publication: 7 cents a word. This licenses the work to you and only to you, to read for personal enjoyment. You agree you may not republish elsewhere, repost anywhere, or share it with others. -- Choose this option if you just want to enjoy seeing your idea come to life on the page at the lowest possible rate.
Exclusive Private Publication: 9 cents a word. This licenses the work to you and only to you, to read for personal enjoyment. You and I both agree we may not republish elsewhere, repost anywhere, or share with others. This story will be, essentially, privately and exclusively yours. -- Choose this option if you want to privately enjoy seeing your idea come to life on the page, and never want anyone else to see it.
Licensed limited publication: 12 cents a word. This licenses the work to you or an organization of your choice to publish this story online or in print. You agree the work may not be materially altered and the authorial attribution must remain intact. This license does NOT include reprint rights. -- Choose this option if you want to publish the story in a single publication or post it online on one website to share with others.
Licensed publication: 15 cents a word. As per the Licensed limited publication above, only there is no limit to republications or number of websites you wish to post it to. -- Choose this option if you want to publish the story multiple places/printings.
Licensed exclusive publication: 25 cents a word. As per Licensed Publication above, but the contract will include a clause assigning exclusive publication rights to you or to an organization you designate. -- Choose this option if you want to publish the story multiple places/printings and don't want someone else doing so.
Ghostwriting: 35 cents a word. You own full copyright on the written piece and are free to edit, change, or do anything you see fit with it. Your name or designated organization will be listed as author. -- Choose this option if you want full copyright assigned to you or someone of your choosing. This is the only pricing option that releases copyright from my nefarious clutches.

Pricing estimates:
A typical paperback novel features 275 words per page. A standard 8 1/2" by 11" page of paper will contain approximately 475 words per page.

The majority of my estimates will fall between the 1500 and 4000 words range for short story fiction.

Delivery times (These represent maximums. Average turn-around time will be much faster):
15 days from initial $30 deposit and provision of requested references, to complete prospectus delivered.
30 days from approval of prospectus and receipt of first deposit, to deliver First Draft.
15 days from First Draft to Second Draft upon receipt of balance of deposit.
15 days from Second Draft to completed project.
Failure to achieve an agreed-upon delivery day will entitle you to a refund of 50% of the total deposited to-date.
