How did we pick the winner?
In the last journal, we asked you what your favorite candy was. We gathered all of the comments together and selected the winner with a random number generator.
We also found out some fun candy stats while we were going through everyone’s comments!

What are community banners?
Artists submit banner ideas throughout the year and, if chosen, they will be featured as the site's default banner for a minimum of one week—sometimes longer if it fits a season or holiday. There is no set amount of banners that we choose. We may pick 3, or 12, or even 42!
Remember to add FABanner2025 to your tags for us to easily locate submissions. We ask that at least one of the mascots is featured, but preferably both of us. Focus must be primarily on the mascots. All banners must meet General Rating guidelines to be considered. Banner sizes are fixed at 1850x300 pixels.
There will be scheduled downtime to update our backend to allow for IPv6 support and we want to give users early notice to prepare for this. Our scheduled maintenance window will be Tuesday, November 11th at 5 AM ET. We are setting this for a six hour window and hope that everything will go as smoothly as possible. If for some reason our outage time goes over that estimate, we will be sure to inform you on our various socials!

Look, I know you guys work hard. But this should have been at the very VERY beginning of things that you guys were putting into the site. It's really not cool that we can still see content from people we have blocked. Both me and friends in this fandom have abusers we need to feel safe from, and without this patch that should have been included in the first place, we don't feel safe.
In any case, thank you. I don't remember this being a feature before. Hopefully they actually fix this soon.

Due to the age of the actual codebase of the site, making significant changes such as how the block functions needs to be done in steps. Step one for improved blocking has already been done, which you can see via the blurred images. There was also some back end work, which users won't see, but helps Tech make the building blocks for phase 2 of an improved blocking mechanic.
Unfortunately, those of us who answer comments are on not on the Tech team. We can't give more detailed answers, but please do keep an eye out on Fender journals for more updates.
Also! While you may not get an immediate reply from someone on the Tech team to your ticket, anything you submit in the Feedback section is read by someone on staff and notated. So please! Do send us what you'd like to see out of a better block. Even if it's something we already had planned or we've seen numerous times already, we still want to hear from you. c:
