While I, an aspiring artist would like to also ask you about the probably-more-simple-than-realized technique to find out how you make the water so covered in glow, I'm more concerned about the hungry look in that character's eyes. it's like she's gonna take that stalagmite and mount it in the next minute or so...
((though off the record, I'm gonna take a stab at the method. you lower the opacity on a free layer, layered entirely of a dark tone that's barely noticeable. I would say a navy for this picture. afterwards, you create another layer just for the coloring of the pool, which you tinted an azure and made at a harder opacity so it would show against the grey/blue of the rest of the image. you then created another layer just for the glow color on the rocks/background, which you lightened the opacity of so that way it would blend in well with the rocks, but still show out from the rest. the air also seems to have streaks from the glow, which seem to be part of the same layer. then, afterwards, it looks like there may be another layer of 'glow-light' for some of the softer areas of glow, but that can also, if worked at, be accomplished in the same layer as the previous. mixing this glow with the undertones of the forest in the background is what really brings out the nature of the work, since it ties the glow into the rest of the scene, making it stand out but actually fit in. ))
