Update Journal Oct-2021

General
Dear folks,
It's been a while since I made a status quo journal, so I figured it's about time.
Many people complained and still complain about 2020 being the worst year for the psychological effects of the pandemic measures. To be blunt, all of those left me unscathed last year, but hit me full force this year.
Following several run-ins with unpleasant and ill-meaning people, I suffered 4 depressive episodes and my sleep problems returned. A dear family member was diagnosed with a terminal disease and we have a few other burdens more to carry. But that only on the side of things.
I've received questions regarding the discord server as well as commissions.
Regarding the first, I deleted it, because it basically became a muddled mess in which my own contributions went under, defeating it's purpose. A new one is currently in the WIP stage; I will post an update on that separately once I get around to fully flesh it out.
Regarding commissions I have to be blunt once more: I am very bitter for several reasons.
People keep asking me about their point in the queue, despite me telling EACH individual personally that I have a public queue here on FA right on my profile: it's beyond me how so many people never seem to scroll and look and blatantly ignore what I am telling them.
The next thing I want to address is my output on personal art. The pieces you mostly see serve a certain purpose. That purpose is to speed up my flow and update my techniques so the time-work investment is on a reasonable level.
Since 2020 I am frantically working on that to do PRECISELY what you want: fighting that long-ass queue which built up in 2019, again, thanks to sleep deprivation.
Due to the continuous interruptions this year, my workflow was broken several times. Despite of that though, I am currently sitting at 46 presentable pieces.
To put this into perspective: in 2019, I had 49 of those and 50 in 2020.
2021 still has 3 more months and I am already at 46: DIRECT PROOF that my methods are working.
Right now I am halfway through one more flow-piece before I can finally tackle that commission queue again.
It's imperative for you to know that my main paradigm of work, even after what I just said, remains “quality over quantity”.
People are getting impatient with me and I can certainly understand that, however when you paid in 2020, you will certainly get a much better piece when I get around to it, compared to the level I was on when the deal was set.
I am working on things as often as I can; the person who is offended the most by those waiting times is the same who wrote this journal, you better believe it!
My health hasn't been the best this year, but as I laid out, the tide is turning, slowly but surely.
Thanks for reading,
~Trias

FA+

( # This question was something I had for you over on discord, but I was curious how you worked on your FA banner and what programs you used. )
Oh I just assembled a .gif-file in photoshop~
In order to help others we must help ourselves first.
I understand we need money and all, I hope you can find a good balance and not work yourself to death. It sure makes me worried for you.
I'm sad about the server, and feel a little better knowing I wasn't the only one who almost panicked.
Hope you get through your obstacles, and that we can see each other more in a new server!
