Former IOC figure skating rating (6.0 scale): 5.9
Grade: A
I will not spoil it, but really if you see it from beginning to end, you would want to play Second Life! (Or even Fortnite or many other games with characters that have a world...) Even if I did get bored at some point, there were some parts of this movie that got me to have more interest and for me to enjoy a whole lot of the movie. In some, there were a bit of profane things that make the innocent protagonist funny, and even the players who are very young say to beat one's ass.... It is true that when there is an NPC like Guy, there is an importance-he is created for a reason, and it is the truth, everyone is an individual and has their own mind, no matter what they are assigned to do-in a world that is as repetitive and in some cases, mundane, there should always be room for change. For Guy, this was a great example of this that one will have to emulate in the real world.
In some cases, one would have to imagine what a company would do to get profits and to even have the ability to use scienter to capitalize and use trickery. For the founder Antwan, he is more savage than Mark Zuckerberg when he created Facebook (Now just renamed the company-Meta, but Facebook still is there: https://about.facebook.com/meta/ )- you will see it in the movie, "The Social Network". Of course, there would have to be things that would have as a way to show easter eggs in ANY game- if it is something that is an original prototype, some creators will insert it to make it exist. That is what the problem is, and Keys and Mille were trying to stop Antwan from causing more harm. Though Mouser was more loyal to Antwan, things can change.... Of course, as Guy is not really a glitch or hack, he is clearly a disruptor to the game. Sometimes, disruptors are good in many ways, it does not have to be bad, but for Guy's case, it can be heroic.
NOW, I did have the interest of seeing Mouser as the pink rabbit, and it is funny that he brings up being high in the food chain He may have some influence from the FF'dom to see vore! It was a little disappointing as I was expecting him as his fursona to be more inclusive in the movie, but overall without the pink fursuit, it was great! Now do note at the end, you will have to connect the dots on why Mouser did pick the bunny as the temporary player in the game-it does lead to why the move ends the way it is.,... And yes, do note why Guy was created in the first place...
Oh sure, you will see some of the summary on Wikipedia, but if you do read the plot, you won't enjoy the movie so much, and that ending would have been ruined.
I would hope then that there would be more of those players like Mouser's furry in the next one as there are plans for Free Guy 2. There is no doubt that when I saw this movie, I was in lots of laughs and in some cases, good nostalgia throughout. At the point I watched the movie, I was a little uncomfortable about them bringing up "funeral" as I did lose my aunt this year. However, I could not let that get to me as it is just coincidental, and that it is just pretend.
ANYWAY, it was a good diversion from sadness and truly, an entertaining movie that is worth seeing again. I will bet you that you will watch it again, and see the next one when it comes out after the pandemic! Will it win any awards? I do hope! Go see, you won't be disappointed!
