Oh sheesh... my condolences, old friend. You want someone to talk to, give me a poke, okay?

I was trying to think of something more insightful to say after watching you take care of him for the last while. I really can't though as things like this hurt everyone differently. All three of my grandparents that have passed it was actually the better of the two situations with ALS, Parkinson's, and lung calcifications racking havoc upon their quality of life.
We had a covid induced zoom call with my grandma before the Parkinson's ruined her brain. That was worse than the actual news itself because we passed out inheritance while she was coherent enough for everyone to thank get and essentially say our goodbyes.
Things hurt but you need to think about the happy times and not the downward spiral at the end.
