I got in the carpenters union and my first day on the jobsite was on my birthday 3 days ago.
Being on a construction crew was not where I thought I would be 5 years ago but I'm not complaining.
The pay is way better than anything I've ever done before and I try not to let anything hold me back from work and I'll take all the overtime I can get
I have bad wrists and they're getting in the way of my job preformance, but maybe my muscles will build up and it won't be so bad
So it seems all I'll be doing for a few months is building and dismantling steel scaffolding, and zip tying tarps to them for the welders and maintenance to do their job
The first day I worked i called a ninety brace a knuckle and they kept calling them knuckles all day lol
So I thought maybe the first sticker on my hard hat will be Uganda knuckles lol
They didn't know what to think of me for a while there, then I said a really dirty joke and they kept repeating it to everyone..and had me repeat to the boss too.. lmao... then I guess they were a bit more comfortable being themselves around me rofl
