Just wanted to let you guys know about this “important update” we’re doing for the Brocarios!

So, the co-creator and I have been talking, and we decided to take the incest out of the Brocarios. Don’t get us wrong: we love the characters, stories, and lore we built upon the “incest” base; it’s just that it’s been kind of hard to write new stuff with that hovering over us. I think we just got off on how “hot” the Brogulls were, we didn’t really think about the awkwardness of it all until recently. Not that we leaned too hard into the romantic stuff, but we do know it was harder to write and draw. That’s why we plan to do a sort of “reset” on everything.

This means we’re creating a new continuity for the Brocarios: the “natural” canon, as we dubbed it. It’s a new continuity with a lot of the same story beats, but with the incest removed from the equation. Meaning we’ve been working hard to make Sammy and Emmet not brothers anymore or related by blood. We went back in and changed up their back stories, along with many other changes as well. We’ll have comparison “charts” to note the biggest changes between characters, in terms of their stories, but these are going to be “new versions” of the same characters we’ve all come to love before! It’s just a new canon we made for them! The best example I can think of, going forward for future projects, is the “Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon” scenario.

As for the old stuff already published, which we call the “incest” canon, it’s all going to be in my scraps. We’re also not going to continue where the story left off in this canon. So the next few projects going forward is going to be a “new-ish” take on old stories we’ve already told, but with the new “changes in lore” in mind. But if you miss my old stuff, it’s all going to be in my scraps! I hope everyone understands why the change and reset! We’re still going to give all we got going forward!
