Possible Commission Routes?
I’ve been thinking about this for a while, but I’m curious on the watcher’s thoughts. What do you guys feel about me doing some kind of commission-based thing?
Like, I would want to do commissions, when I have more free time, but as of recent incidents, I’m kind of in a pinch. Not to the point where I’m dying or anything. But I am definitely struggling more than ever, even with a job. I am looking as hard as I can for a better job, as some of my friends have heard me cry about, sadly, but recent events are definitely making it harder than ever. That’s why I’m curious on people’s thoughts. Maybe I could do like YCH auctions? (As I’ve seen from other artists) Emergency sketch commissions? (I don’t make the greatest looking sketches, but I do have some style with it.) Maybe one full commission at a time? (Because I get overwhelmed so easily, I figured one at a time would be okay, but IDK about my prices.)
Give me your feedback. What would you guys suggest be the best route right now?

I'm no expert on how to organize commissions as I don't do them myself, but I think the route you choose boils down to how much you need straight away, and how much time you can afford to put into these. YCH are simple and popular, but those are usually priced less than full-blown commissions. I think if you believe you can work fast enough, then that'd be my advice. But if you're not gonna have a ton of time due to life stuff, perhaps full commissions would be better as those could be done over a longer period of time.
But honestly, I suggest doing what you feel the most comfortable doing right now. Your art is so good that people'll commission ya whatever you choose to do! I hope I helped.
If you aren't sure, you could probably ask your audience what a reasonable price would be. Personally, I'd say a colored and shaded picture from you would be worth at least $50. A YCH or an experimental round of commissions could probably help you determine that as well.
I don't know the details of your situation right now, but making some extra money never hurts. I think you can definitely sell your work.
