My opinion on Infinite
Hello, here’s my first journal!
Infinite is releasing soon so I’d thought I’d make my opinion known to those who might care about it.
The only thing I really care about in Halo for a while now is the Sangheili. Since Infinite has no playable Elites or friendly Elites in the campaign, I reckon that Infinite is bad, and I won’t be buying or playing it at all.
If you’re wondering, I used to be a hardcore Halo fan since I first started playing it in like 2002. In 2012, when 343 started releasing their Halo games, that’s when I started to hate Halo, and I stopped playing it, but I still loved Sangheili.
I’m kinda in a bad place with Halo because whenever I see Halo Infinite news or gameplay I just instantly cringe for some reason. I can play the classic Halos on MCC just fine, it’s just whenever I see 343 Halo footage I just really cringe. :( It could be because of the fact that 343 ruined Halo and removed playable Elites, or because I think that 343’s writing and cinematography is terrible, and so are their multiplayer design choices (such as making multiplayer canon and adding all those crappy skins, etc.)
I just want a Halo with good writing, kinda like Mass Effect, where they treat the alien races with respect and aren’t just completely bias in favour of the humans, and more centred around Sangheili like Halo 2 was. And of course with playable Elites in all gamemodes, including matchmaking.
Do you think my opinion is full of crap? Feel free to write in the comments below what you think about my opinion or about Infinite, don’t be too mean though

Can't comment on the multiplayer stuff as I haven't played it.
Halo 3 also focused a lot on sangheili. All coop players aside from player 1 were elites.
I understand where you come from. But at least try to give newer Halo games a chance. As well as other halo species (especially jackals. I love that chubby jackal you made a while ago) I thoroughly enjoy everything about halo.
Halo 3 was great and I loved it, that's all I have to say about it
I actually played Halo 4 when it came out, so I guess I did kind of give it a chance, but now don't want anything to do with that game after playing it's lame, poorly written campaign (and getting literally depressed for a few days after watching the entirety of Spartan Ops on Youtube) and COD-like multiplayer.
I guess the reason I'm not really giving Infinite a chance is because I don't wanna relive the cringe/depression* of watching/playing Halo 4 and 5. If they had friendly Elites in the campaign, then yeah I would probably watch it on Youtube, in hope that the characters are written well. If they had playable Elites then yeah I would play the multiplayer. Like I said I don't really care much for Halo anymore other than the Sangheili parts of it
*It's stupid I know, but I do get really down after I read/watch poorly written official Halo/Sangheili stuff
But I think 343 has gotten a lot of things right this year, what with the massive support for MCC and classic Halo in general, coupled with a lot of the excellent stylistic, artistic and most importantly mechanical features seen in Infinite. I wouldn't advocate that you force yourself to enjoy Halo for the sake of being invested in Elites, but it does sadden me to hear you've become so adverse to seeing Infinite media because of 343's past mistakes. I think there is still hope!
After all, who said no friendly, handsome and well-voiced Sangheili?

The dude in that video (Chak 'Lok) is actually a boss that you have to kill in the campaign, and I know he's like really handsome and polite and stuff but it saddens me that you have to kill him. I know there's no friendly Elites in the campaign because I read the campaign leak that appeared a while back and there was no mention of any friendly Elite characters :( (there could be a minor friendly Elite character that could appear that wasn't mentioned, but I doubt that)
And at the very least, we have you and your wonderful work to sate our Sangheili appetite. Nice and plump-
Thanks for your kind words!
It's inherently a Humanocentric series in both its themes and core gameplay that was first made apparent the moment you could open a Forerunner door in CE without doing anything else.
