I'm excited to be back!!
I've spent the last couple years working basically nonstop and saving all my money. I got my student loans paid off and bought a neglected dumpy little cursed house in the mountains. I have been super busy fixing it up and making it mine. Between that, therapy, and finally being medicated for some really intense obsessive compulsive disorder; I'm doing a lot better than I have in a long time. This is the first time in my life I feel stable, like I can slow down and breathe and actually enjoy art again.
I have a bunch of personal projects going, world-building/illustration and costumes! I'm slowly going to make my way through at least some of my updates. I want to see what everyone has been up to. I still really like this website LOL. I appreciate that its kind of off the beaten path. It's cozy.
ALSO SHEEZY ART IS BACK????????? πππ

FA+

and welcome back super excited to see all the stuff you have instore! c:
And I feel you on the ocd part. That shit sucks
Omg yeah. It's such a terrifying misunderstood illness, ugh.
OCD is such a burden to deal with, I'd know, and I'm really glad to hear you're doing better!
Can't wait to see what you put up!
YES IT IS! AAAAA.
But wee thank you! AAAA I wanna join new sheezy!!!!!!!
Congrats on joining the furry artist homeowner's club too!! My partner and I bought a house this year ourselves and have also been caught up in renovations. It's so deeply fulfilling to have that sense of ownership and control over your surroundings, and to be able to watch something go from a bland fixer upper into something that really feels like "yours". I think that, especially coming from the point of view of someone who has been "very online" and unhealthily caught up in social media in the past, it's super grounding and healing to feel connected to your physical surroundings and have these big tasks that are completely disconnected from the internet. I wish you luck with your renovations!
Looking forward to seeing your artwork again and all of the new stuff you're working on, too! (...as I looked at your commission account, also occurred to me that I have a horrible new character who I would love to commission some artwork from you of, whenever you feel like taking commissions again. No rush though!)
Oh my gosh I agree 100%. Getting away from ONLINE and just, putting all my time, energy, and focus into my physical surroundings has been so cleansing. It is especially fulfilling considering my house has been neglected for decades. Between chimney fires and DIY electrical wiring it really should have burnt down by now LOL. But now it is safe in my hands!!!!
OHH HORRIBLE NEW CHARACTER YOU SAY?? π I do plan to open a few commissions here soon so feel free to email me whenever! Then I can let you know as soon as I open!
I totally feel ya on "how the hell did this place survive without me" too, mine was seriously overdue for a new roof (but somehow, miraculously, didn't have any leaks?) and an unseasonably early snow caused one of the half-dozen dangerously overgrown trees on the property to drop a massive, tree-sized branch on the deck that could have easily wound up on the car or roof if things had gone a little different. It's been a lot of money to get things stable... gotta love neglectful long-distance landlords who do zero maintenance on their property and then sell it off once the the neglect can't be ignored any longer. :/ Kudos to you for getting your place safe and taking care of those issues before they could cause problems! Electrical wiring and chimney issues are two things you don't wanna fuck around with.
And oh boy, that is wonderful news, merry Christmas to me! :D Thank you for giving me that chance! I will be traveling for the next day or so but I will hit you up with an email as soon as I'm settled. I know you'll do an excellent job on this guy!
OH DANG it's so scary when trees start crapping limbs. One just barely missed my shed this summer. I'm glad you caught the roof before it became a problem! Mine has a leak on the back porch and GOOD GOD. It's more roof sealant than metal at this point lmao. Oh gosh yeah I feel you on the money thing. Literally all my extra cash has been going into this house. I cant afford to make it 'perfect' (you'd have to gut it if that was your goal) BUT I am getting it cleaned up, safe, and livable!!!!!!!
WEE SOUNDS GOOD!!! I can't wait to see them. *n*
Glad that your shed didn't get trashed! Home improvement really does suck your money up, no matter how much you put into it there's always something more you could do. But the process is fun in itself (once you get the immediate perils out of the way that is, hah). Hope you took some good pictures when you first moved in so you can look back on it later and marvel at how far it's come!
Iβve been working on making a bunch of stuff, got a job that pays better and am finally starting on a comic Iβve been anting to do for about a decade
Also yeAH THE NEW SHEEZYβS GREAT, I LOVE IT THERE
Omg congrats!! Have you been posting it online anywhere? Making comics is actually one of my big goals too. Someday!!!!!!
AAAAA I wanna join next time they open up registration!
AND YES, DO IT, I think they have them open on fridays?
I'm glad things are going well for ya!
I'm glad to see you here again and see your new artworks again. and I would like to know what sheezy is?
It's another art site! It was around in the early 2000s then it shut down: https://sheezy.art/
Take it easy and look forward to seeing more of your work
glad to know you've improved personally and have taken some well deserved plentiful time off!
welcome back, to the cozy depravity of FA lol
also if you make a sheezyart account i'll have to add you hehe π
AAA YES same! I managed to grab an account but I haven't started using it yet, I'll definitely post here when I do!!
We just moved back in with a friend near the border of VA/WV (I'm so happy being closer to the mountains) while we figure out if we plan to save and get a place either here or in Nevada. Covid really threw us off track and I'm glad just to have a direction again. @0@
I would love to see pics of your little cursed house XD ποΈπ»π
OMG that's wild because I actually bought my house in WV! The older I get the more I realize how much I love the mountains and especially my home state. *u* I'm glad you were able to get your footing again!
OOH I would love to show you!! Do you use telegram or discord these days?
I am sorry that you've been struggling with mental health. I'm in the same boat, not OCD but anxiety-related and I don't wish that on anyone. I'm happy that you found a treatment that works for you, it can be life changing.
Also, you mentioned that you thrive in solitude? It's called being an introvert, nothing wrong with that c: (sorry, I like to read through replies a lot, haha)
