People are comparing it due to similar sentences being said in the trailer that was said during Zootopia, mostly the whole 'everyone only sees us and expects us to be bad guys, so that's what we're going to be'. It's similar to Nick Wilde's plight in Zootopia. However, just because there are similarities, it doesn't mean to say that the Bad Guys will do everything the same as Zootopia. In fact on closer inspection they have all ready done quite a few things differently, like having a spider, a snake and a shark as part of the 'bad guys' crew, Zootopia never touched fish, reptiles, arachnids or anything else beyond mammals, so all ready Dreamworks' offering is broadening the amount of creatures they want to feature in their world and by the looks of things from the trailer, the story will be different to Zootopia's for sure. Mostly it seems about Wolf deciding about wherever or not his own image or keeping his friends is more important.

The trailer/movie may be "CGI" and "more mainstream" but this looks more in line with something like fantastic mr. Fox than zootopia to me. While I enjoy the latter the former is an underrated masterpiece to me.

Wait people are comparing this film to Disney and Zootopia? Huh never got that impression, I saw it as a film about bad guys and trying to change good.
Heck Mr Wolf calls himself the "big bad wolf" , when I heard that I thought maybe it was going to be based on a fairy tale

Just because of one line the wolf says and then everyone states the comparing. It's actually based off a children's book series of the same name by Aaron Blabey, so this movie is a adaptation

Huh shows how well I knew about how it got created, should have looked into it then I would have known it's on a book series XD

I thought Disney was a law firm, didn't understand why peoples compare DreamWorks with it.
Disney was and I think still is a great source of inspiration, as they where the fist of all of them, patent troll.
They manage to obtain copyright on public domain, revamp so much story and claim it's their own and they're greatest success won against original author just by claiming "no we didn't know about the story and our character is different, his red is #FF0000 and our is #FE0000, he has 40 dot on his pant, we have 41 it's totally different".
And don't forget the perpetual copyright they promote since snow white

Since when it comparing to Zootopia? It Have Humans too. So it a world were Humans and Anthro Animals Live tog ever. So I don't see the comparison here.

I'm happy it is NOTHING like Disney, the animation is snappy and quick, the expressions are fun, the art direction is playing with different styles and allows a lot more breathing room for the furry characters, honestly it feels more believable and "real" than a lot of bog standard Disney CG/Pixar output today.

Gettin' tired of Zootopia being brought up and compared to whenever any anthropomorphic movie or show comes out, as if that movie kickstarted it, despite so many other movies and shows that came out long before it.

I found out the movie's based on a series of books too?
But not everyone is gonna have the forethought to look into that unless you tell'em.

I'll be checking the movie out for myself. It looks like it'll be a lot of fun!

Don't tell anyone that the books are a kid-friendly riff on Reservoir Dogs.
