Goodbye 2021. Hello 2022.

FIND ME AT https://inkbunny.net/SkyeEldrich !!!!
Again, normally I post something highly political and discuss the last year and all the garbage that went on and all... annnnnd this'll be a return to form; but I'm going to try to keep it contained.
Honestly, 2021 was objectively better than 2020. I know, I know, you're all staring at me in disbelief, but it's true.
And there's one reason for it. Trumplestiltzkin lost BIG time and is NOT the "president" anymore. We deposed a dictator in 2021, guys. We took him out. We took one big step back from the brink of a literal apocalypse. And that is something to celebrate.
For me, 2021 was a year of malaise. Exhaustion. Depression. I barely did anything creative. I barely did ANYTHING period. I did accomplish a few things, but they were few and far between.
I spent most of my time still in lockdown, still in quarantine as much as I could. I only saw my first movie in a theater recently (Spider-Man: No Way Home). I've barely left my house because of fear of the virus and because there's just nothing to do with everything still mostly closed down.
And even that wasn't enough. I wound up catching the Budweiser Virus from one of my shitty students who refuses to wear a mask in the last two weeks. Thank the god I don't believe in, but because I'm triple-vaxxed and take good care of myself, I didn't have symptoms, but I had to spend Christmas in Quarantine.
I'm just TIRED. And 2022 looks like it's gonna be more of the same as 2021. I think things will get better, slowly, despite the concerted efforts of an extremely large amount of very, VERY dumb and very evil people. We're in recovery. It's going to take decades, if not generations to recover from some of the things we've been through.
2021 WAS better. Not a ton, but it WAS. 2022 will be a little better than that.
Provided each and every one of you Americans votes in the goddamned Midterms. Vote like your life depends on it.
Because it fucking does.
Goodbye 2021. Bring it on, 2022.
