New Year, New Things
2021 has been an interesting year. I felt like I took a couple of more steps in figuring out what I want to do in my life. The Pandemic has slowed things down a tiny bit for me, but also has given me more time to think. I definitely pushed my comfort boundary the last couple of years when I decided to make the switch to an LE Ranger. This past summer gave me many more opportunities to grow in that regard.
For 2022, I'm pretty much set on taking a year off from Park Ranger stuff, and work on knocking out my helicopter certs and get my instructor rating for the off seasons down the road. I'll first see where I get with my commercial rating first before I fully commit. If I do, I'll miss working in the outdoors, but in the end, I feel like I should take this opportunity now while I still can. A year off shouldn't hurt my ability to get back on track, but it's probably a much needed break after seasonal summer work since 2013. It'll also give me the time I need to finalize my final career path choice. Its a scary big decision to make with lots of unknowns, but I have a lot of people supporting me in my decision, especially my parents.
Anyway, I'm sure to have an adventure one way or another! Thanks for your support, maybe I'll open for commissions next year for simple stuff as a start to get a little side income going. :)
Here's to a fun-filled 2022!
