I swear this will "nearly" be the last time I write a journal about this...but I had to tell someone. I sold another art piece here locally! You'll remember my Halloween Skull? http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2926571
I sent a few people the picture, via email, and low and behold someone wanted to buy that sucker. (And just when I framed it and was going to take it to the FLOW gallery this weekend) Darn. Looks like I'm going to have to come up with more art, since this one didn't even make it to FLOW. Get this, the picture is going to be a Christmas gift. Gawd, I just love that. :)
Ahem, sorry to splut all this out, but I'm excited as you can tell.

Another thing, too, that might interest some of you. I've really found myself attracted to Surrealist art. I mean it's just an amazing, emotive, often deep art form.
Here's a neat link if you want to see a lot of really fantastic Surreal artwork. Some of these people are just incredible and visionary.

Among one of my favorite artists to date (I'm new at this surreal stuff) is Chet Zar.

His work is pretty SO damn creepy that I can't stop looking upon it. Thing is...I'd be afraid to hang it in my house because the images are disturbing and I'd be constantly checking to see if the image was still in the frame, or out looking for ME!
Thanks for listening.
P.S. I promise I'm not going to brag too much more about selling a picture. It's just that....heh, it's nice to be loved. :)

Are you familiar with the work of Max Ernst? I think he may be my favourite artist out of that millieu, and I like to present him as a proto-furry since he not only drew a vast number of animals, monsters and hybrids with varying degrees of anthropomorphism but even had a fursona of sorts in Loplop, "the bird superior"
props on selling the painting also
I will search out your reference artist. It shall be fun to see his influence and see just what it does to me and my art.
Thanks for the kind words on selling my art! Life is good...and strange. ;)
If you can reconcile that with the stuff I usually ask for I'll be doubly impressed
i drew the hooded Claw i n Rooster outfit kissing Penelope again this one turned out better top halves only no room for legs and feet though
I've already started painting on my Soul Fish today...but I've gotta do a catch-up piece to have enough artwork to take to the FLOW. Already I have plans for my Iconic octopus...and I might just do a mural of him too. Got me a wall now, like a huge concrete canvass. It's calling to me.
*dances with da pony* :)
I'm glad you're digging those surreal links. I just love that art too! :)
I've got a ton of things that need work and color. There's SO much to do and, of course, so little time. :)
